I don't know why everyone is complaining. This thread is about christianity, not about how "wrong" all religions are in your opinion. So stop complaining, and start writing something, that actually has something to do with this thread.

Crap about Jesus? That's pretty disrespectful. Not called for.

Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you. --KJV

When a man has filled his mouth so full of food that for this reason he cannot eat and it must end with his dying of hunger, does giving food to him consist in stuffing his mouth even more or, instead, in taking a little away so that he can eat? -- S. Kierkegaard

I said religious people deserve to be insulted, because religion is a bad thing, it's sad if you consider something that small sadistic.  While I agree that OP has the right to express his views here, I also think that I have a right to express mine, even if they go against his.  I don't have to respect something that is a cancer to society just because some people like it.

Please, tell us how you really feel Cheesy

1. The deriving of pleasure, or the tendency to derive pleasure, from cruelty.
I don't see how being anti-religion is sadistic, I'm not being any more cruel than the OP is to anti-religious people by cluttering up the board with crap about Jesus.  A wise man once said, religion is like a penis.  It's okay to have one, it's okay to be proud of it, but you shouldn't go around waving it in people's faces.

Right because you said they deserve it.

Saying that is kinda cruel.

He's not invading other threads doing it, he made his own. Big difference.

My views are that Christians (and religious people in general), deserve it.  I have no problem with having belief in a god, but I do have a problem with what religion has turned into.  Between politics, tax exceptions, holding back science, child indoctrination, bigotry, etc, religion is not something that deserves to be respected.  It's a double standard if the OP can be extremely religious and nothing be wrong with it, but I can't be extremely anti-religious.  I didn't start a thread against religion, I'm just showing my views that happen to be the exact opposite, and very aggressive views at that.  I would be perfectly open to a calm, logical discussion about religion, but the last thread showed that isn't going to happen.

That is very sadistic.

No one deserves that.

There is a difference between institutional religion and belief in God, Jesus Christ.

To be honest, there are many churches I've gone to that have made me sick due to their message or conduct. Alot of hypocrites who would preach one thing and do another.
But, I learned to separate the conduct of specific churches from the religion itself. There are good churches out there.

Keep Vod out of here and we might make some headway Smiley

Let's not forget that Jesus himself wasn't a part of any religion.

Jesus, being a man who values equality would have been Pro Bitcoin.

I thought that Jesus supported following the earthy government. Because word was ending soon. As he teached slaves not to uprise too.

He taught non-violence... but that didn't mean supporting earthly governments.  Look at his example... he sure as hell wasn't afraid to confront the false ideas of his day. (Which got him killed in the end).

I agree.

Given that Bitcoin can be used by Christians to escape control by totalitarian governments who seek to keep money out of reach and under tight control.

I think Bitcoin could be very useful for persecuted Christians in countries like Iran, Egypt, and even China.

I actually would do the same to a Buddhist if he felt like he had the need to start a thread on his religion.  If you open a thread for discussion, you should be open to all opinions, not just ones that agree with you.

So you would insult them?

There is a difference between discussion, and insult. You should know the difference.

As I said, he moderated this thread because of all the abuse of people like Vod.

How insecure must people be to insult a man who starts a thread proclaiming his faith to his God?

Would you do the same to a Buddhist?

In just_me's defense, his other thread was being threadcrapped by idiots like Vod who calls Christianity a cult and insults anyone who believes in Jesus Christ.
It wasn't even a debate, just nasty name calling by him and other trolls (Mike Christ, I'm looking at you!).

So save the crap. If you don't believe in Jesus, don't ruin the man's thread. Go start your own thread. End of story.

For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ. Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble; Every man’s work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man’s work of what sort it is.”  (1Cor. 3:11-13)
