they are still studying how they will integrate it within their economy. This is just a move possibly to protect their people from using cryptocurrency which is very volatile.

This people is acting only to produce the max damage to USA economy and power.
Just look at this jerk "Internet Ombudsman of Russia", who is calling to stop produce more IT qualified people in Russia.

They are ready to put Russia to stone age only for reason to not give to USA any help in the joke of be first in international competition.

The monetary war is in act, and i see no Reasons why the Government of Russia  need to recognise cryptocurrencies.

I have always know that the only issue about bitcoin for government is the issue of taxation all the news of illegal activities is just for diversion because they are yet to fine tune how to levy tax and the moment that is been taken care of, all other reasons are secondary and that is exactly the route most countries are going now towards that length and I dont expect anything different for now.

I am very much agree to your point, tax is the number one reason for governments to restrict Bitcoin's growth to their country and for me the second one is money laundering that people can easily do when engaging in Bitcoin and any other crypto currency, we can't blame government in doing such regulations though but the main reason for Bitcoin is the security itself that tackles this government regulations to take off.

from what i have understood from news regarding Russia and bitcoin regulations i say your topic is very misleading.

the Russian government has nothing against bitcoin as "payment" they are mostly worried about taxation! and this can clearly be seen from every statement they have ever made.

they don't consider that bitcoin can be considered as a virtual currency. It's more digital assets with the regulation of assets, the head of the Central Bank of Russia Elvira Nabiullina said.
this is no different than what US does! they also treat bitcoin very similarly and it is all about taxation.

and this is already a great improvement in my opinion to go from "Banning bitcoin" to "wanting to regulate it and make it legal".

Dmitri Marinichev, Internet Ombudsman of Russia.

The Law about Cryptocurrencies in Russia is directed to permit the legal exchange and Tax applications in Russia.
No direct payments in Crypto for goods/services would be allowed.

Times for the Regolarization Law Project are constantly sliding, and legislative process may take an unknown time.
The law may not be approved after November 2017.

This is very normal since cryptocurrency is still being studied and Russia have not released any laws and policies pertaining the regulations and policies on the use of cryptocurrency. Without these laws and policies it is normal for the state to announce to the public that direct payments in the form of cryptocurrency in exchange for goods and services is not yet allowed since they are still studying how they will integrate it within their economy. This is just a move possibly to protect their people from using cryptocurrency which is very volatile. Though the laws pertaining the cryptocurrency is not yet released the most important thing is that when it is implemented cryptocurrency will be used throughout Russia.

Who cares wether or not cryptocurrencies are allowed in Russia. All the russian crypto users can`t be tracked and the government can`t catch them. It`s not about taxation. It`s all about stoping the export of  russian capitals outside Russia.Anyway, the cryptocurrency ban isn`t the solution for this problem.
The russian bureaucracy is pathetic...

The Russian government is against bitcoin. Their concern is that past the Treasury is a lot of money and so they want to tax bitcoin tax. It will have nothing to do with legalization. You can for dollars in Russia to buy something? The same thing will happen with bitcoin. Why such legalization generally needed!
