You're late the the party pal, biometrics have been going on for years now. Everyone is free not to buy an iphone and the magic seems to have worn off with the latest iphone 7. Apple have got a big pile of cash to keep going, but their new lines of phones are becoming too outrageously pointless.
As always the Shepard will give a little to the sheep before the slaughtering... I couldn't stop laughing when I heard the story about apple removing the swipe to unlock. Now if you don't register your biometrics with the phone you will have to press like a pre-2000 phone to open... pathetic.
