you could also use verified exchangers to convert from other e-currencies to bitcoins. done that alot of times. converted liberty reserve to bitcoins and it worked for me. give it a shot.

I think it's so hard to get a hold of coins if you're not living in US. Or is it only me?
What country are you in? As long as you have access to international banking and good internet lines you should be fine. Just remember that paypal and creditcards are usually NOT accepted because it's too easy to reverse the payment after the sale.
Here's the issue:
1. You buy 1 BTC from me
2. I give you the BTC which is non-reversable.
3. You reverse the paypal payment by lying and saying I never gave the BTC to you.
4. I get totally ripped off.
For this reason most folks require a non-reversable payment of some kind before they'll give you any BTC. And it goes both ways - if dealing in cash or bank transfers, make sure you can trust the recipient not to run with your money without giving the BTC's.
