Thank you guys very much, really appreciate all the valuable knowledge. I know it wasn't gained easily. I will listen to it. Hopefully there are some folks in my country that will share the enthusiasm for crypto collectibles.

Will see, will update this thread when I will open the store. As the ideas above, will try to start with some cheaper coins and collectibles so if the price of bitcoin will mewn, regular customers will still be able to afford it somehow

Thx  Cool Cool Cool

Hi guys Smiley

I am entering the world of crypto-collectibles and am browsing and googling as much information as possible, but anyway was thinking the best step would be to try to ask here the more experienced guys.

Could you please give some advice on how to enter this world while not losing every penny I have Smiley

Because I am super excited about this and would like to open a small shop - probably e-commerce site in my country with the crypto collectibles.

I saw there are like billion options of coins so my question is...are there some "rules" for example when buying from sites like denarium and so on how to spot coin that could increase in value in few years?

I mean is it better to buy coins with denomination? Are bronz coins bad idea as collectibles? Would you buy for example the Denarium 1 BTC Bronz patinated?
Is better to buy coins in auction or better from website? there are so many questions and unknown Huh

Could you please give a total crypto collector noob some advice how to start crypto collectible business?  Grin

Also my account is new, because my old one from 2013 was hacked and never restored Cry

Thank you very much

Welcome to the collectibles section!  There are lots of talented creators/artists as well as many knowledgeable/friendly collectors.

If you are buying as a collector, buy what you like, whatever appeals to you for either its beauty, rarity, or how it would look on your wall.  If you are buying to make a profit, spend a lot of time researching the market and expect to lose btc but make a profit in usd.

When trading, use escrow with everyone except the most trustworthy traders.  Even then, asking to use escrow is no problem.

My advice is to buy what you like number 1.  Number 2, if you are looking to make profit on your collectibles, rebuy the bitcoin you spend buying the collectibles immediately or the odds are slim to make money in the long run.  If you believe in bitcoin, you'll never recoup the premiums you've paid in bitcoin if you don't.  There are threads of scam makers etc and there are certainly fakes out there.  Do some research here in collectibles.  Take things with a grain of salt.... and welcome back.

Thank you anonymousminer. I will defenitely listen to your advice. I was wondering that it won't be that easy to run profitable collectibles business with the btc/usd pricing.

So I guess now when btc is/was dumping and if you are bitcoin believer as you said, it is actually pretty good time to sell physical coins and not to buy them, huh?

Well even if it is so, I am going listen to my heart and buy some beauties anyway Grin

Now is a good time to buy if you are buying with cheap BTC.  However the collectibles market has slowed because EVERYTHING is down and that creates lots of uncertainty.  The volatility of BTC usually didn't affect the sales.... the prices just fluctuated as their other assets were solid and stable.  That's not today's world.  Just my 2 bits.

While material preference might matter in your case try to stay away of over-priced coins, some are worth it while others not. AM advice was nice, if you like it you should get it, chances are you will earn profit versus fiat but due to crypto's nature one is always better holding crypto.
by overpriced coins you mean casascius coins and so on or gold coins for example? Sorry for probably totally noobie questions  Tongue Wink

I mean coins generaly that aren't like casascius first of it's kind and have a obvious over-pricing but that goes fom merchandising everywhere not crypto related only.
Like you know a OZ of silver is perhaps 20$ the coin is valued at 40$ after making it look stunning but don't go around selling it for 80, people will pay but I don't agree with that kind of overpricing.
While this scheme seemingly worked for silver didn't look that well for gold, and some are fighting to get a bit over spot.

I'm kinda fine with casascius, i love kialara can't say a thing they are quality and have everything so i'd say they worth their price, there's other coins that would get you (at current low price) 5-8 oz of silver for 1 single oz, while I do admit they look gorgeous but it's still a tenth of its silver worth and nothing compared to a kialara which are quite complex too.
Some even might be proven to have the keys compromised. (still uncertain how sol noctis will end they too damn good looking.)
This being said unless you really sure what you doing i would rather bet for DIY coins unless we talking leleana as example and you know it isn't a fake.

Look at satori, from 20$ a coin (pre fork) to round about 75$ or more nowadays, I loved these coins and i now almost regret giving them away, on a side note they are expensive now but at the same time not produced anymore so it kinda compensates.
I'm quite happy i found the same coins krogoth raffles for btc marketing purpose, way better than satoris lol.

Casascius coins are actually at some of their best prices in history.  Honestly unless you really go overboard one could argue there really are no over priced cas coins.  So much value outside of loaded and material..  welcome and good luck on your journey the folks here are very insightful worth lurking and asking questions

Wow, you were here back in 2013, did you do any collecting then or did you ever visit this board?  Just was wondering

No, unfortunately, I didn't. Most of my time I've spent at speculation boards, at wall observer and so on

Well put by anonymousminer i dove in head first and learned the hard way the collectibles lose value in btc the more expensive btc gets in usd so always recoup the additional btc you spend on the premium. Also think about what will be able to sell in the future if btc skyrockets, the .5 btc and higher denominations will limit you from a bunch of buyers so ideally id recommend getting .025 or less as many people will be able to afford them as they find out about these amazing physical bitcoin collectables. Also i made big purchases from denarium website and ebay before i found out about this site and id recommend staying patient and waiting for the amazing deals that pop up on here randomly
