Noob Question: Does the SATA cable coming out of the riser has to go into PSU?

Yes, you need to connect it.
The PCIe interface is limited to 75 W and it is not enough for a lot of GPUs.
If you have some 6 and/or 8 pins connectores on your GPU, don't forget to connect them to your PSU too :-).

Yes, you need to hook up that SATA cable to the PSU as well to power up the riser. Hope it helps

It does but would usually not provide enough power to your GPU cards.

Cool cool. I have my rig built and ready, just wanted to make sure before I turn on the power. Didn't wanted to blow up my gpus with extra power ha.
