Home dir is where Core maintain it's blockchain data. Since you are starting from scratch, you can pick whatever folder you want for this. It should be a folder that Armory can access however (no alternate user or admin restrictions).

Typically, Core sets that folder to /users/myusername/Bitcoin/blocks

You want to use something equivalent or the default folder.

Install dir is where your Core executables are, specifically bitcoind.exe.

Considering your symptoms, Armory is most likely failing to find Core executable files, and you'll want to explicitly set the install dir through the File -> Settings dialog. The home dir will be resolved by default and for most users that's satisfactory.

Thank you very much for the clear explanation. It is now "Building Databases" and it looks like I will get it to work. I'm mildly worried of my skills to handle/understand issues I may experience in the future, but I will take it step by step. With kind and helpful people like you in this community it shouldn't be an issue.

Enjoy your day.

I tried armory a couple of times, and found way to many issues, to be honest, and not advertising for coinbase, but I switched, and have been happy ever since. take a look for yourself, if your In the united states.

While I respect your shameless efforts to spread your referral link, I am setting up armory to have a more secure way of maintaining a personal wallet that doesn't rely on a 3rd party.

It's completed the stage "Downloading via Armory CDN", but has been stuck on "Synchronizing with Network" for 8+ hours with no progress in the green progress bar.

It seems the issue is that I'm not pointing to the correct folder for the "Home Dir" or "Install Dir". What is the exact file that I should be directing toward for both of those?

Sorry for the simple question but I've looked at many other threads, some say it should point to the same folder for both (the folder containing .exe of bitcoin core). But the default wallet example displays the Install Dir pointing toward the roaming/Armory folder, and doesn't provide an example for the Home Dir. I've tried several different combinations but it's just not syncing.

Thank you for any responses.
