Yeah, when this bad network issue been dey disturb well well for all network, Airtel been still dey manageable. I for I dey na only Airtel been dey work well, and I thank God say I get Airtel sim, if not I for no fit do anything. Because of this network issue, some persons at first come dey put the blame for opay head say na Dem naim no get network, untill e come dey clear say na the sim Dem na get the issue. With that bad network, I been still get access to somethings like transfer and using P2P.  Anyway Sha the network issue don better pass before and now you fit get good access to the internet only the first day wey e start.

The few days wey I experienced bad network for we country I been still get access to run my p2p transactions because the bad network been no totally affect all the telecommunication networks like Airtel, I been still dey run my transactions smoothly because I swapped my sim since Mtn and Glo network was down. If to say I not get other alternatives I no really know how I for do even with the posting cause using mtn to access the Internet wasn't working that day too even doing bank transactions was also affected cause mobile banking apps was not accessible as people were totally stranded.

Op, abeg if you get other method wey we fit take bypass this kind of situation especially the p2p transactions in this type of situation feel free to notify us because this thing fit happen again in a bigger way we don't expect this one na warning sign.

No other strategy since na mainly sim card network(Mtn, Glo and Airtel) we d depend on mostly to browse.

I use this network problem wey all Nigeria's d experience know sae truly data is alive. Peso phone or laptop d useless without data. I know the kind thing wey this network issue don make me do for the past weeks now. At times I go feel like throwing away my phone because of peso d find am frustrating to browse. When I come learn na global thing, I begin to find means as to find ways on how to d browse smoothly without much stress on network palava.

Ways I find to beat this network issue of all network na to set your browsing network to 3G network setting not 4G. Secondly na for early morning and midnight na when d network d dey strong. You can make any transfers or download any files of your choice at that time smoothly without experiencing much bad network.

If you have the MTN app, you will get the app notification pop-up on your mobile device. I got the notification which MTN apologized for the poor Internet and also stated the reason.

Yesterday was Sunday and I thought it was somehow good because it was weekend but the network is still good now. So it is getting better. It was said that some repair have been done.

Information as them talk am na power if to say no be this thread me I no even know say cables self cut under water, no wonder I dey experience bad network for browsing since na MTN network I dey use I come think say maybe na just MTN network way no good I still went ahead to buy AIRTEL network still thesame network issue.
But from the look of things now I noticed is not as bad as it was before I believe they are doing everything possible to make it work perfectly as before.

I saw a post from someone this morning that the network is fully back on maximum better condition, i don't know how true yet but those who are mainly into MTN should verify the claim. The network has delayed and obstructed the quick flow of transactions ,from poor connection, purchasing of data and airtime without receiving it and even not able to transfer money, I'm happy it's likely been sorted out.

I read about the news update couple of days ago but It never interested me to bring it up here spreading about why our network is being so frustrating. I don't believe our government and there's nothing impossible they can't do jusy to give excuses pertaining their incapabilities and doesn't care of they excuse was sensible or irrelevant.
So I literally doesn't want to spread some false or some kind of verified information here in the forum that's I didn't bring it up here.
Ever since then they said every inconveniences circumstances towards this network issues will be normalized and til date nothing of positive changes has happened yet. What're they not telling us?

This network issue was something else this week that it affected lots of things, it even affected banking services. Wey be say for some days people no fit make transactions. Their was a time I could even use my network to open other apps but I couldn't use it on cryptocurrency exchange,  I even try to use it on bitcointalk.org the sight was not going through.  Abeg make this thing no happen again because it can cause one to miss Opportunity.

It works better today. And it is not only MTN. The damage includes 9Mobile and MTN.

Who noticed that during this bad internet period, anything Google works so well, Netflix works well, Google works well, and Spotify works so well. I guess it's not just about the MTN network alone. It also has something to do with other servers being cut off, and these servers are the ones who have collaboration with MTN, maybe.

At first I knew Mtn network don start again, cause this network issue affected some apps but funny how some social app stopped working like twitter, I no too dey used to slow network and the network slow like mad but my data dey finish and very surprising how data dey run fast or the issue dey cause am.
Same wahala, I registered Airtel yesterday but no change still slow network. Nothing concern the cable wahala with Airtel but ever since Airtel network no stable, Glo is working fine but my area no get this glo network.

MainOne which is a provider of submarine cable systems said the repair of the damaged underwater cable can take up to 5 weeks. I have just noticed that USSD code were even affected.


I hope they will repair it as soon as possible. 5 weeks is too long.

Though I hard same about internet on waterway been damage but it's more effective base in location in some area you can still manage it with some network.

This has nothing to do with P2P. Read the OP again because the OP included the reason which is the damage to underwater internet cable that is causing the issue.

Two people told me that they are using Airtel and they said the network is good. I used Glo yesterday and the network was also good. Try to get one of them.

That does not change the fact that if there is not network again that people will prefer to use it. When Russia destroyed the mast of network providers in Ukraine capital, Elon Musk donated some for Ukraine which they were using to access the Internet.

And also add to what you said, to assess the forum. And for me to sell bitcoin is not a problem because you can keep your bitcoins for the period that there is no network but you can be comfortable when there is no network to browser the network. And that will lead to the use of bendband dish to connect the internet and browse. And that will affect plenty business and lot business owners will lost enough money. Even now too in Nigeria the network is not strong enough for to browse the internet effectively but we are just managing for now.  Me I know shey na bad government dey cause all these nonsense and ncw good government comes things will change.

Last year, Starlink was sold at 300k. This year it is now 800k. The price of Starlink is about to go up times two. Unfortunately, not everyone can afford it so we just have to make do with what with have by this I mean buying data bundles on all the different ISPs we have and switching between them intermittently whenever the internet delays on one.

I read somewhere that Glo 1 is still working good but I do not know if it is the Glo network used in Nigeria or another country but owned by Globacom. I guess it is Glo and I have just used it right now and it is working perfectly. I have no problem using it to browse.

Actually na when I see the news yesterday, my body week me because for person to dey experience this kind bad network continuously, e no go easy at all. MTN and other network providers have been battling with their services for a while now, well it seems they have been able to summon the courage to admit and tell us the cause of their problems unlike before that they just blanked us to wale for nothing. Now everyone have accepted what they stated as the reason but I want to ask, are we sure we are not battling with sabotage? We know that these big corporations do not play fair; ever since Starlink announced entry into the African market, so many dramas started unfolding and this made me to wonder if the internet disruptions are natural occurrence. Bro no be lie you dy talk, at first, I think say na data finish, without even checking my data, I try doing another subscription, E no work, them even debit me for my virtual account wey I dy use subscribe data,  but up till now, e never returned back,  toward yesterday evening, na my company wifi nai I dy use browse through out, though the network no too strong, but I dy fit manage am, so if this issue persist for days, is their anyway we fit access the internet for this country?

I must mention that its very observant of you to notice these irregularities on the part of the internet today, I'm really thinking its browsers that are mostly affected as native apps are faster even with the slow network. The thing really affected internet users today and the more patient you get, the worse it becomes and the dragging no be here, I am believing that its better now as I am able to use it more comfortably than during the day mainly as conjestion has reduced and most users are retired to their beds. If these situations continue, many people might switch to other internet providers like cobwebb, StarLinks e.t.c. I have a strong feeling these things are shortcomings of Popular Nigerian ISPs instead, and not a general internet problem.

I only saw this news in the evening as I have also been having challenges accessing some of my social media handles. After seeing the news, I just manage to login and do my activities and be patient with the network because it doesn’t looks like what will be resolved any time from now. In the news I saw, it also affected Ghana and not only Nigerians.


The network providers by now should be working on them because they know what they stand to lose if that is not fixed within the shortest possible time. There will be alternatives to them and when people get comfortable with those alternative in this few days they might try to fix the problem, people might start switching and they can lose those customers forever. I’m sure it will be fixed soon, if not already working on them by now.

This will only happen for few days since this networks know how much they will be losing if this occur for long. This days I can say data are more consumed that airtime. So this will be fixed within a short time. If this persist for long, no doubt it will definitely affect alot of people has it isn't everyone that has the money to source for all this alternative mentioned above.

Well I dey kind of confuse because from where I dey nothing like this network issues at all and me dey use Glo sim although I been receive slow network but I just turn my 4g mode to 3g and the thing work perfectly for me. I even got a call from a friend asking if there has been network issues for me from where am staying because he was thinking it's actually a regional something of which I told that I haven't experienced any of such but since am seeing this now, it means alot of person were actually affected.

My MTN has been particularly unreliable since morning, and my Airtel, Glo, and 9mobile connections are not much better. It's already happening; the starling market will start booming very soon. This network issue was only affected by MTN, Glo, and Airtel; at least those are the three I tried, which gave me a very poor performance. 
 
I have to go back to my old 4G SIM, Ntel, which I long forgot years ago; I don't know if they were even still active. I slotted it in on my universal WiFi and got it subscribed. At least the internet service is better than what MTN has been offering me since morning.

I forgot to give my own opinion about this question. You will see more Nigerians ordering for Starlink.

mtn network has been terrible since yesterday but throughout the day I haven't hard any major network issues probably because I'm using both mtn and glo and once I just experience a simple break in my network I just automatically switch to my glo line.

Regarding the possibility of total network outage up to a week  and above, it's best not to even imagin how devasting it will be cause just a few days ago when facebook hard some glitch in there connection, there was so much trauma and discomfort within that small space of time. We've gotten used to the use of Internet for most of our survival and should this happen it's not only our crypto funds that's in a big problem, it means that our bank apps won't work and we can't also access our mobile apps which automatically makes it a serious networking pandemic and I doubt something like that can last as long as a week.

However we can't tell what the future holds and topic like this should remind us to keep out some cash at home as backup plans should event like this happen even if it's just for few days.

Why is it websites that are affected? YouTube is good and fast on the app. Exchanges apps are loading fast.

We fit experience terrible internet or no Internet for some days. Wetin I read be say some internet underwater cables cut and while I never fit confirm say e affect us for Naija, I don already dey see the signs for both my MTN and Airtel.

Now we go back to the question, say if we nor get internet for many weeks, wetin be your other strategies to access the internet and send Bitcoin in case of P2P or from your exchange wallet to your soft wallet?
