I searched for a discussion about North American soccer, and I found this thread which I had completely forgotten about.  Not surprising since it's just been me talking to myself so far, lol.  And, here we go again.

The USA Men's National Team won the Concacaf Nations League last night with their 2-0 win over Canada.  The fun game was played Thursday, however, against the highly irritable Mexican National Team.  I don't know if I've ever seen a game with 4 red-cards dished out, I'm just glad there weren't any serious injuries.

The weekend kicks off the Concacaf Gold Cup, and the USA are favored to win it all.  It's been a great week for US soccer fans, if any exist other than me...  Undecided

The final is about to start.  As most expected it's down to USA and Mexico.  Canada made a good run and so did the guest country, Qatar.

For tonight's final there's a sold-out crowd in Allegiant stadium for the first time.  Somewhat surprising since it's the home stadium of the Las Vegas Raiders.

Go USA!

The Concacaf Gold Cup is under way, it started last night with Mexico and Trinidad Tobago playing the first match in Arlington Texas.  Everyone expected Mexico to run away with it, but Soca Warriors held on to a scoreless draw.  A big win for Trinidad Tobago.

Qatar's national team is an invited guest for this competition.

The USA plays Haiti later today, obviously I'm rooting for the US to take the cup!

The USA's most prestigious soccer league, Major League Soccer (MLS) has kicked off the 2020 season this past weekend, and it's already off to a great start.  The league is growing, and starting to attract some highly talented players.  It's the fastest growing sports league in the US right now, and already boasts the third highest attendance in all of American sports, second only to the NFL an MLB.

There are two new teams to join the league this year; Nashville and Miami.  Two more will join next year, and two more in 2022 to combine for a total of 30 teams, split up into two regional conferences.

The last couple of years I've enjoyed watching one of the newer teams; Los Angeles FC, which has been playing pretty darn good football considering their recent arrival.  Last year they won the conference title with a record number of points.  Unlike European leagues, the MLS has a knockout championship called the MLS Cup which recognizes the winner as the league champion.  The playoffs schedule the 7 top clubs from each of the two conferences for three rounds of playoffs.  The finalists from the two conferences play each other for the league title.  Last year LAFC lost the conference final to Seattle, who went on to win the MLS Cup.

I watched some of the games this past weekend, and found them to be quite entertaining.
