I noticed that some ICO websites are not hosted on a not secured website. Could that be a sign of a scam?

Probably because why would a development team would host their project to a non-secured website. It could probably lead to a massive hack of their investors and users account if they want them to sign up on that website. So you better stay the heck out of that place before something's going to happen.

If an ICO project could not run a secure website, please run for your time, money and efforts before they get you scammed.
Genuine ico's take their projects serious in all ramifications.

High chances but there are still some instances that they might able to neglect such basic thing for a website to have since we do talk about investments or funding which it do really needs security.
If I do see such stuff then I wont really tend myself to waste up time and money for this project. Security would be always the main priority for the safe of its investors. Not secure ICO website
indicates already something about on the project dev behind.

I would consider such an ico website as non professional and regard it as careless attitude from the people behind that because when you are raising funds from others you have to pitch your project, website and whitepaper well, if you cannot do even the basics right i think that project is definitely not worth investment and most of people consider it a red flag and avoid putting any money.

a lot of problems this year, these are all signs that most ico are scam.
I doubt investors will believe in ico, even though some ico have succeeded in achieving hardcap but prices will not reach the price of ico may be a dump and worthless.

Is the first sign I look out to when accessing any websites reputations. It is one of the factors to determine if a website is serious about my security before given it much taught.

I would stay away from those ICOs. That's very basic but very important for an ICO and they cannot even do it. If you have the patience, you can still ask them in their social media channels, maybe they just just thought of making money straight away and forgot to secure their website  Grin

yes it might be directed at dangerous sites that you should avoid, the ico web is generally easy to access if ico is official, if ico is doing a private sales system then the ico web cannot be accessed publicly, that's my opinion sorry if it's wrong

Even if they don't use security protocols how can they be sure about our coins and our details, I think there isn't no point to talk about that kind of projects unless they are still updating site. making website and start ico can be do by even teenagers. So my option is most probably those projects supposed to be scams.

it is possible. ICO website should be secured as the buying and selling of coins are tokens at happening inside it. It should be something that secures the account of its members so that funds will not be transferred to other accounts. ICO sites are normally the target of hackers so they could exploits accounts of members inside it. It the site is not secured, then maybe it was just created to deceive people to invest in it.

you mean they don't have HTTPS protocol or what?
If yes it means that you don't need to use your time at this ico

Yes he was talking about SSL, logically speaking a project that could not use SSL service for their own website to keep them and costumer safe is not worth your time.
because it is very likely they are only trying to get money as soon as possible without spending more expenses.

it could be a sign of a scam site. I have seen some icos are putting malware. Remember you must be careful before try to visit any ico site. Use online antivirus will be more preferable to prevent there will be a malware that will be attacking our PC.

Yes, maybe. But you should notice that is the main website or just a ICO announcement website. Because there are some projects have their main website and for MVP, the ICO announcement is not a secure website.
