this looks like one of those pop-up ads that shows up when you visit or watch movies, series, anime, etc... on illegal streaming websites, they are very common on those types of websites(don't ask me why I am very familiar with it  Smiley). they are extremely annoying, what you can do is either ignore them, leave the website or press the "x" that is usually next to the pop-up. and yes, there are pop-ups like this that if you click directly on the ad, it will try to download something on your computer.

For so many attempts to hack our wallet and any other platform accounts we should be aware that hackers will do all just to penetrate on our account so sample of this on the image provided and we should never click that since getting compromise or anything that you don't like might happen to us.
We should never get tempted or get curious to know about what random people sent to us on email or to the notifications sent by random apps so that we would not fall into their trap. Newbies are the targets of this frauds so they should remember than anything random offer is shady especially if they give huge money or bonus so start to doubt on what you read especially if you didn't participate on anything and most important of all don't download any random apps since you would provably receive a lot of this notifications.

Mostly these messages are in the spam folders of Gmail, I have seen most of the messages in my Spam folder in Gmail, due to which I clicked on my previous mobile, which takes me to a page that requires my mobile password, but I didn't click it. I knew that was a scammer mail.

Although these emails hack a person's whole mobile data through their Gmail mostly people have stored wallet passwords in their Gmail by clicking the Save Data option easily. So, we should be aware of that, even if some message comes into our spam we shouldn't even click it because it can hack our mobile fully, our wallet passwords, our YouTube Channel login, etc. Especially if we buy a new mobile we should be aware the most at that time.

These days most messages that come with links are flagged as spam unless you tag them as "not spam". Once a message comes from an unknown sender and it comes with a link, never click that link. It's best if you just block the sender to be safe.
Even if the message comes from a verified account or website, don't click it as long as you are not expecting any email from those sites.

They come with juicy offers and all. Don't fall victim. The links may be telegram or Whatsapp links. It may be emails, SMS, or social media messages. Ignore all of them and block them.

Newbies are always a potential victim to scam due to their level to have little or no knowledge about how the new scamming method works. Hence, since different hacking & scamming method are getting advance by the day, for me, I will like to suggest that for those having above $1000 in a mobile wallet device, it will be far more better if they can have it stored in a separate different device alone, in other to prevent ever getting hacked, while for those having BTC less than $1000, can still maintain having it store on same mobile device which they use on a daily base, but ensured making security your top priority.

Newbies are very much porous to scam activities as you have said and as such, scammers do target them to take advantage of their poor knowledge about Bitcoin investment and in some cases they do fall in through messages sent to be their mail box. I believe any newbie seeing this post would have idea on what to do if they possibly encounter Such in the future.

I also buy your idea of suggesting $1000 above to be stored in a separate device while below is maintained in the same mobile. In as much as it is a dollar denomination,, it looks okay but for others this amount is such a huge amount that could run into billions if I am not mistaken. Maybe a $500 above could be stored separately while below can still be maintained in the same place.

Thank you mate fir this information and I don't think this is mostly beneficial  to just the newbies  but to every other person. I've seen several similar random emails and notifications and this is more common when using oparamini browsers.
One thing I've known about scammers is the fact that, they never relent on their mission and the end goal and target of their mission is to defraud their clients irrespective  of who their client is or the situation  they might be going through. Another popular tricks used by this scammers is nude and sex scam where you get several sexy pictures with email or whatsapp number attached and the moment you click on them, you're already 80%exposed and people should always learn how to trade with extreme caution on the Internet as I've already learnt the very hard way.

That's an ad that you can see many times on a site like a free movie website but I don't care if it shows " You won an iPhone" because I know it's fake or scam. When I see something like that, I always closed it or leave it as it is and I also tried it myself to click on that and what it ask from me like name for example and number then I will type random number or generated phone number online and fake personal details and after I completed all of it nothing happens.

I can't remember how much scam attempts my very first Gmail account has received already, and until now, I still receive notifications that obviously is a scam attempt. If I'm not mistaken, I receive at least 1 per day.

That's my mistake. I used that email to various websites whenever I'm registering a new account, and maybe that mistake of mine is also the reason why my Bitcointalk account got hacked last year. Anyways, if you feel that the email or whatever you receive is a scam attempt, trust your guts, and don't ever click it. Don't you let your curiosity get you, or you might be a victim by these scammers. Better to just ignore it at all cost I guess.

There's a lot of spam with email and SMS today even in social media, emails, and SMS can now block your devices even calls which is came from unknown users so you won't get harm, if you didn't expect coming from better to block, ignore or delete those to prevent getting click or open, most of them have a malware once you downloaded and click that can now compromise your device. My device supported those features so I don't get worry too much in those spams, and also I tried to download a device protection with ESET.

Everything you describe is true. Because currently there are quite a lot of thieves or fraudsters who use the internet network to target crypto assets from email accounts. Apart from that, data thieves related to crypto assets now have very diverse ways of carrying out their attacks, one of which is the message image that you display. Because if you think about it psychologically, sending a message like that to thousands of email accounts, then offering a very large prize. There is a possibility that one or two emails will be lured into the trap and after that the data contained in them will be leaked to fraudsters/thieves. So this is where we have to be able to think more realistically and be more careful about the traps carried out by a handful of fraudsters who are targeting the crypto assets we own. Never be attracted or tempted by messages that offer unreasonable prizes.

However, apart from the incoming message containing the promise of a gift that goes to the email account (spam). As far as I know, there are many other methods commonly used by internet-based thieves in their hacking actions. And the methods that I know include phishing techniques, using applications, via websites, and via WiFi networks. Therefore, we as cryptocurrency investors must continue to be careful and not be careless when it comes to downloading files, applications, entering websites, and entering WiFi networks. Because the slightest mistake can have fatal consequences, especially if we have crypto assets stored on our PC, cellphone or laptop.

If you are willing to click on the fake links you get through these phishing mails then you are already making big mistakes because when you click on these links you will be redirected to lot of new tabs trying to implant malwares on your device and trying to steal data from your phones. Most of us are ignorant enough to keep seeds and wallets in the same device so they simply access the personal information and drain your wallets as well. Then we wonder how it happened so best is to avoid such mails giving you offers because they are pure scam.

Those scammers are just trying to get us thru our curiosity that's why they always use appealing words to confuse people about what they are trying to offer. But if they click those links for sure they are now their victims and either they attack thru malwares and drained all the wallets installed or try to scam them by to good to be true offers.

That's why its really good for us to ignore such messages so we can getaway on any potential risk that may came to us. Its more better if think about all of it is just a scam so that we will get curious on any spam emails or random messages out of nowhere.

See some several cases which they got hack for clicking those link so hopefully we can learn from their experiences.

The one you mentioned is just one of them. There are many other that you see from ads too. Something like "your friend just won some thousand of $, click to get yours"

"Download this to start making money online", you see pops like "free browsing for a year. Continue"

All of this are always scams, nothing good comes out of them. Your phone might get hacked in the process of downloading any apps they recommend

Check current emails to see they were pwned or safely. If they have been pwned, likely they were in data breaches and they are no longer safely to use.

If they are unimportant emails, one solution is abandon them and use other emails.

There are always ways that thieves take advantage of. They take advantage of our weaknesses. Not only email, all messages, the web has the potential to hack the data we have. So actually we must be vigilant and careful not to have excessive fear. In my country, there is a lot of phishing news through the WhatsApp application. They send wedding invitations or letters from banks. But it is an Apk Extension file. Even I myself accepted the invitation but I let it go and block the phone number.

I find this article helpful in connection with the topic:

The Dangers of Randomly Clicking Links

It includes an explanation of the possible damage by clicking links loaded with malware and ransomware.  The good thing is that the article also included ways to prevent one from being infected.  The list stated in the article is as follows (the explanation is on the given link above):

  • Stop going to unknown websites and clicking on random links
  • Don't open attachments from people you do not know
  • Don't click on weird links or even weirder email or Skype messages from your friends or acquaintances
  • Update, update, update
  • Scan, scan, scan
  • For your IoT devices,  make sure you connect them through one secure point
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest happenings in tech and scam land
  • Check our additional resources on web security, too.

In the online world a person can get into an accident like hacking at any time. For this one must be very careful. Hackers will often discover new tricks, so never click on any link sent in an email or anywhere without clearly observed. I have seen some phishing sites related to my work which made me more cautious because I have learned about some people getting hacked in the past. Currently there are direct messages and notifications in my mail and social media with various links that I have never clicked and never. Newbies are more likely to make such mistakes. So if you take precautions, you can get rid of such situations.

There are scammers and then real Hackers. Scammers are the ones who use deceit to carry out their theft like sending deceitful links to people to make them create a vulnerability. They can also be in talk with their victim for a short or long time, during the time they deceive them into letting their guard down. But Real Hackers do not need to be in talk with their victims, they observe from far and exploit security vulnerabilities. Scammers will send clickable links, Real Hackers will not, so you may not even know when you will be attacked if you keep being careless with your security by allowing vulnerabilities.

Receiving messages of this nature definitely is a red flag and suspicious enough for one to note it is a scam attempt from scammers. If one is sure of messages coming into their mail box without being worried because one knows where it is coming from or one is expecting a mail from a certain address then there is no need to worry but here you are not sure of the sender and then the content is corrupted with malware, one should not bother about looking into it but rather deleting it would be the remedy for your own safety.

Maybe your email must have been a target as a result of possible hack from the Crypto organisation(s) you have registered with and it is not just you alone, I believe others too are having their own share of the message  as it is as you have received it. I actually received mine last month and consistently for 3weeks back to back but I never bothered because I can't remember doing anything with such mail in the past.

I am also a victim of this. This doesn't happen only with email services but also numbers. One time I had to give my number to an association for work (I seriously don't know what got into me, why I gave away my number). Guess what happend the next day, I started getting lots of spam messages, calls. Like are you looking for jobs? Are you looking for houses? And it didn't stopped. Every day I would get minimum 10-15 spam message. Later I had to change my number. As for email, I have my personal mail & my work mail. I try to be as spam free as possible. Unsubscribe what I don't need, avoid clicking unknown links. They best way to sort everything is to use the filter option.

I have often by mistake but mostly out of curiosity clicked on such kinds of notifications when I try to visit a site, mostly when it is a movie site for downloading movies or news channels.
It didn't take me long to figure out that these are fake sites that scammers or hackers use to gain access into unsuspecting device.

I had to enable ad block and also learnt to patiently wait for such pop ups to show skip ad or cancel buttons before proceeding, so as not to open or give access to the site's intrusion.

Sometimes different people's situations get confused when they see email messages such as bonus or gift notifications. it's clearly a scammer, but sometimes the momentum is right when someone is in need of money or doesn't have an account on the exchange or platform. so it looks real. without carefulness and good focus, we could be trapped in scammer mode which we can actually realize very easily. However, the conditions in which each person sees a message like that are different. but thank you for warning everyone to be more careful.

Op You are absolutely right, I have been noticing since long that these sms can be seen when entering various websites. I always refrain from these things. Once I clicked by mistake, they showed me that I got a lot of money. That's when I realized that this is a phishing site. They can attack my device anytime. So refrain from these.

Thank you very much for the warning. There are many people who still don't know about these things. Hope they will be careful after reading this post.

Try to limit the places where you post your email, especially if it is your personal email.
Customize filter options to reduce spam and try as much as possible to avoid clicking on links. I don’t know why Gmail has limited options for filtering incoming messages and reducing spam and phishing, but using protonmail will provide you with a lot of settings, such as the ability to check the link before clicking, better filters for messages, and checking the message extension.

This scammers are getting sophisticated day by day.
There is nothing sophisticated about this type of scam, it is the victims that are either ignorant, gullible or greedy. Quite a lot of times these scammers play on the greed of the victims, ether by telling them they have won something (out of thin air), or that they have been selected for a giveaway prize, etc. It is easy to know that you shouldn't click on random/unsolicited links, more often than not it is going to be a phishing attempt.

Having said that, it is also necessary to have throwaway email addresses, these addresses would be used for random and untrusted platforms or websites, thus you'll take anything in its inbox as prolly a scam until proven otherwise.

Someone I don't know shared a file with me in this fraudulent age? I delete such files immediately and block the sender. I don't just delete and block, I also report such to limit the spread if possible.

Nowadays, it's very risky to open any unsolicited and unfamiliar messages, I even disregard the ones from the banks and companies I registered with. I would rather go directly to their official websites instead of clicking any link whatsoever.

It should not surprise you that these scammers are getting innovative. The thing that ticks me off is how convincing it would sound but there's always a catch..the link they'd provide.
There was one notification I received from my bank in my email that I needed to provide deets about my card. The moment I saw that they mentioned my card, I started calling their bull, good thing I didn't tap on the link that was provided tho.

I haven’t received any of such emails. I don’t believe these mails are just random, it’s possible that scammers target the email address of people who are in crypto.
You never can tell if scammers don't send messages to random emails,  it can be very possible scammers can send emails randomly. Scammers can not be trusted. I think this emails of users can be of those who normally participate in airdrops,  some of the airdrops are scam projects.  Some people are not very conscious on how they exposed their emails on Internet,  their are many ways this scammers gets emails but one needs to be careful of the mails we receive because scammers sending mails to users is nothing strange but very common.

If I can still remember very well those messages in the Op are not sent to emails… they mostly seen when you are trying to download a file from a free website most especially movies.

I remember back then when I used one of my phones to access a free movie site and before I could download a single movie I had to click and cancel numerous ads and most of them look exactly like what op is showing us, some of them have; “Your phone space is full, download x phone cleaner to help you reduce your phone space”, “You have won x amount click on this link to receive or share this link to several WhatsApp groups to receive”, “Your x phone has been contaminated with virus, down xvirus to keep your phone safe”, etcetera.

There are so many of them when you’re using such site, but I have never received it through an email before only through one of my unprotected devices which I have no use for except watching movies and accessing sites that are not secure.

I haven’t received any of such emails. I don’t believe these mails are just random, it’s possible that scammers target the email address of people who are in crypto. My theory is that they buy the addresses from the dark web, they could have these data after a crypto exchange or site has suffered a hack, users who have their emails linked to that platform are usually targeted by scammers.
Some people use email for airdrop or give it to a group, they give their email out without knowing what would happen. One of my emails out of many that I have did contain phishing messages, this is the email that I have given out before in the paste but I did not know the exact thing I used it for. The rest do not receive phishing messages, example is the email that I used for just the forum that is only receiving messages from only this forum, it has no phishing messages.

So we conclude that is a malware attached where after you download and able to run to your computer, your computer will be compromised.
If an email message contain a file which you do not authorized for, likely it is a malware. The best thing to do against phishing email is to avoid them. I gave up the email I did receiving several phishing messages in the past.

The rule of thumb should be that if you get an unexpected message from someone you don't know, than it's 100% spam/malware and you shouldn't even open it. Instead you should  mark it as spam so that your email service could automatically filter all similar messages in the future.

You should be also careful to whom you are giving your email and have different emails for different types of sites, but getting spam is pretty much unavoidable because web services eventually get hacked and user information gets stolen.

This should be consider by anyone since unexpected message always contains risky contents so its better to ignore that messages and locate which app continuously giving those notification so that we can easily delete it. So dangerous for anyone to show their interest on such messages since we don't know if we will get drained by malwares or get scammed by those people who usually offer huge amount of money to convince and scam people.

If this is spam messages is not provided by apps then its provably emailed by scammers and we need to be more aware with their activities done so that people can avoid losing some amount on those old scamming methods they do.

This kind of attack is very normal for most people even if it is not related to cryptocurrencies. I also saw some people posted in some community group on social media asking "what is this?" and yeah we answered that never clicked it, especially when he said that there was a file attached there.
So we conclude that is a malware attached where after you download and able to run to your computer, your computer will be compromised.

What I learned from here is that, if it sounds and looks suspicious, do not click it. You can already recognized it from the way how their usernames constructed- it is usually jumbled letters with many numbers. Aside from that, if you can see the preview of their messages, their grammar is a whole crap. So better watch out for these signs!

...About files shared in an email or any chat platforms like Telegram, Discord, never click on it is a vital rule for everyone. It is more important rule to obey if you received it from a stranger, more reason to never click on it and download file then open it.

Spam folders are really a great help to avoid scammers or any other suspicious and fraudulent activities online. I'm not saying that you should not visit this section on your emails, but you should also try to visit it, because sometimes when you are waiting for an email from someone and this sender is new on your inbox, they might go to your spam. So better get their details so that you can check it beforehand. Also don't forget to delete those spams- it will save your space plus it will reduce your carbon footprint!

...About email you received, I would like to ask. Did it come to your Spam folder?

Mostly emails from scammers will come to Spam folder that is a signal or can be considered as a red flag, don't click on it if the sender is a stranger.

Generally, don't forget to always think before you click. Do not let your curiosity governs alone, gear up with knowledge so that your assets are secured.

This scammers are getting sophisticated day by day. The other day, a friend of mine was complaining bitterly how her WhatsApp app was hacked, I asked her what happened and she said, a random phone number that she's doesn't have on her contact list, sent her a link to click that she will win a price if she clicks on the link, she being naive and not knowing that this is the pattern scammers now use to deceive people, she went ahead and clicked on the link, immediately she did that, she was logged out of her WhatsApp app, and the person blocked her too, and they started using her WhatsApp to defraud her friend's on her WhatsApp, asking them for money and other gift items.

I thought these clicks doesn't happen immediately. To be eligible for the grant, the victim is expected to execute tasks. In the process, the hackers get useful information  that can be used to control her account. But, it seems these attackers, advance quickly. Many victims fall for unique techniques. A lot of internet users think making money online is a luck thing. Uninformed fellows easily believe the scam messages, because it came luckily. They anxiously get lost in the process and pay in money. There their eyes gets clearer. The daily emergence of fresh internet users, increases the alarming news of scam activities. An experienced internet user can avoid cheap scam methods, newbies can't. And nobody will be suspicious enough to detect when a friend's message or chat responses doesn't correspond. They'll have to inform friends about being hacked, which may be too late. Before getting informed, numerous friends may have been scammed. I feel like little discussions with the hacker, can reveal to me that I'm not talking to a friend. The baits, gets the victim's interest. What they get from their interest, puts them into a sad experience and situation. I'd advise any new or fresh internet user, to marry the search engine. Whatever strange or lucky emails you receive, look it up.

Thanks for sharing Taskford.

About files shared in an email or any chat platforms like Telegram, Discord, never click on it is a vital rule for everyone. It is more important rule to obey if you received it from a stranger, more reason to never click on it and download file then open it.

About email you received, I would like to ask. Did it come to your Spam folder?

Mostly emails from scammers will come to Spam folder that is a signal or can be considered as a red flag, don't click on it if the sender is a stranger.

I resize your images too. Current ones are too big.

I do get a lot of these with my teenage email and that's because I've been registering in almost everywhere before, I just sign up for anything that I see when I was curious and careless. Even til' now, they keep coming but I am not interested with them because I know that all of them are scams.
There are also other topics but the same tactics that they're sending through email, like you're falsely hacked and they're giving you the scare that they've got your files, never click the link that they've included in that email because that's the first move that will make you phished and install some malware. Next time, to those that haven't learned about these email scams, never register anywhere or don't use your main email to random sign ups.

So nowadays, please don't click on link sent to you from an unverified or a random person, either by mail or text message, who knows, you could be clicking your death warrant. Let's be very careful out there, because this guy's are diving into the crypto space.

There are a lot of spam emails containing bonus offers, but I never thought that there would be people who would be so generous in giving away bonuses for free. So it's better to just ignore messages like that and don't pay attention to them because they can have a bad impact on the security of the devices we use. Never download anything from unknown web addresses, it is very dangerous.

It's important to always avoid any unexpected emails from unknown senders, irrespective of the email content. I have learned how to do that for a very long time now.

Recently, I have been receiving a series of emails asking if either my blockchain account has been longed in or my PayPal account, and sometimes the email comes with a suspicious withdrawal attempt or a log-in to my Huobi exchange account. Since I know I have not used those exchanges for long and I don't have funds in them, nor am I expecting anything from them, I just don't fall for their prey.

I will just advise you to block the sender; it will not completely stop them as they will still come with a different mail, but at least for the time being, it will reduce the level of spam mail that you will receive.

Any messages from email or social media that require downloading from a link should be taken into consideration carefully, even if the source is from the official site, there might be some instances that the site is hacked and the hacker puts a malware-infected file that can automatically be installed when downloaded.

We have seen lots of proof and event where a person got hacked because he downloaded some file or clicked some link from an unverified source.  So we must be in our utmost vigilance when receiving these kind of messages.  Best if it is not that important is ignore or delete them to prevent us from misclicking it.
