I would cross check the file via an online scanner.  See what's found.  If you have extra crap you didn't catch with your scan.  Then you are going to be changeing a fair amount of passwords.

I received the PM from Jozzaboy. I installed the client and run it few minutes until I found this thread  Sad.
Thank you.

Make sure to run Malwarebytes and SuperAntiSpyWare immediately! You installed a keylogger.

Thank you! I've just installed and run both.
SUPERAntiSpyware just found 98 adware tracking cookies (I think not a big threat).
Malwarebytes found: 1 PUP.Optional.QuickShare.A, 3 PUP.Optional.Iminent.A, 8 PUP.Optional.Tarma.A.
I don't know if any of them could be a keylogger, but at least I cleaned my system.

Don't use shitware, use a real AV. Free CureIt! utility, for example:

http://freedrweb.com/cureit/?lng=en

Well, FreeCureIt didn't found any bad thing on my system, I hope that it is clean now. I hope that there was not a keylogger. Dresdenreader, are you sure that there was a keylogger included on the fake Novacoin client?, perhaps MS Security Essentials or my firewall stopped it?

By the way, Malwarebytes Anti-Malware is blocking some PPcoin wallet communications (original wallet). The excess of safety is unsafe.

your system is not clean. your AV is not picking up the malware. the scammer is sending malware to steal info, not deliver ads.

Yeah, I thought scam accusations would be a better place for this, but newbies would help too.  Thanks for that other link.  I posted this thread the moment I got the PM.  Didn't want others to fall for it, and didn't check.

*The guy who sent it to me was gpulover.  Seems like multiple hacked accounts.

I just got this PM (from cryptograd) and opened the link, however I didn't download anything.
I'm using Google Chrome on Xubuntu 13.04. Is there some risk of my PC being infected now (probably not but better safe than sorry)

Another thread about this is here, by the way: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/beware-novacoin-phising-site-283953

Phishing site, obviously it has trojan virus.

those are two different things - yes its an infected client but not a phising site

I got it too.  I wouldn't trust the site.  This sounds like a scam.

Just received a PM (and I assume to many others as well) that offers 15$ for every address up to the 100th.  Not sure if there's a virus in the dl link, but the link this PM sent was to novascoin.org instead of novacoin.org?  The sourceforge link is different on both sites also. Beware?
