There is nothing illegal in bitcoin and RBI has never announced that bitcoin is illegal but they have warned people about it because it is not regulated and one MP who does not have any clue about bitcoin raised his voice in parliament ,hope you know that Japan has legalized bitcoin recently and i think they will come up with a verdict this month regarding this.
This is old matter that rbi said that we have no control over bitcoin , use at your own risk , but what for that statement which is viarl in India about the declare of the bitcoin as illegal and also the same news in the coindesk ( bottom bar of faq & ref about bitcoin legality in India)
OP needs to change the subject, its misleading. There hasn't been an official announcement yet!
No brother , Actually to ask a question in lenghty title is really a problem to not to see the full title in the mobile view , so I made the mark of question ?? In the last hope you understand .
there is no official anouncement yet .Zebpay has created an online petition , This petition is asking the Indian Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, the Reserve Bank of India Governor Urjit R Patel and S. Selvakumar of the Ministry of Finance to “announce Bitcoins and cryptocurrencies as legal.”
Yeah bro , yesterday zebpay made a program in India tv news timesnow where there was discussion for the legality and importance of bitcoin .

Now I think we need to wait for the official announcement , as the bitcoin already get banned and then became legal by court order ( about in 2010 ) ,So here is also a possibility that bitcoin use is fully safe announce by the Indian government .
Hope everything goes well .

There are already so many threads created about this topic, as far i know RBI didn't declared bitcoin illegal. The statement came from one of the BJP MP Kirit Somaiya . I would suggest you to spend some time reading others topic posted in India section to find all your answers.
