I know right?  I would have loved to have been able to buy at the low price of the recent dip.

When the market gets quiet...wait a few weeks as the silence sinks in then buy. Litecoin did that several times now as did BTC.

not saying bitstamp will go under definitively.

but if you read the forums here you will notice there are disturbing delays in withdrawing both fiat and BTC from bitstamp

which is how the GOX debacle started.

a 2nd blow like that would devastate BTC

again not saying it will happen, but it should be something everyone considers

This is the lowest form of FUD. I'm with you on the market view, but not this. Can anyone vouch for this garbage?

withdrawals from bitstamp are undoubtedly taking longer than before on average, and there are apparently a serious of hoops to jump though for withdrawals for some.

again - not saying bitstamp is going under, but its something to watch closely. Especially since now as there is an obvious rush for the exits, the exchanges have to come up with the cash for all these withdrawals  - if they have been naughty and been playing with customer funds instead if segregating them as a regulated industry is supposed to (which doesnt always work AKA corzine) they ain't gonna be able to pay out.

a rising tide floats all boats.

This is bullshit I'm afraid.

No issues at all with Bitstamp withdrawals, SEPA's arriving next day as they always have. BTC instant (or a couple of hours for larger amounts)

Agreed ..I have transfered mutiple 5 digit sums onto stamp in teh last 10 days ..all overnight TT's that are absolutely awesome !!!!

You cant get much better than that ...withdrawls all good ... STAMP have been 100% professional all the time every time ..anything saying otherwise is pure FUD

KYC ...guess what ..answer the fucking questions dufus ..the days of SILKROAD are over..welcome to the new more mature world of the CRYPTO ecosystem

As much as I believe in BTC long term, I don't think this drop is over yet. The dumping wasn't even started on the Chinese exchanges, so there is a good chance we're going to see another significant plunge. These price levels may not last long, but we haven't reached the bottom.

Waiting for that bottom seems very risky. I don't know about the rest of the world, but most bears and new users here are only waiting for that sign to go all in. With the sell orders that will retract in that period, I would not be surprised to see the price double in a few days when the bottom has been reached, and probably more if the crash continues.

On the other hand, buying now is risky too since it might go to 200$, but everyone here seems to agree that it's just a matter of time until we're back up, so in the "grand scheme of things", this option is still quite profitable and less risky.

An exciting time for Bitcoin this is Wink

i would bet on this and did bet on this bear by dumping everything i owned. Admittedly too early on the way up  (380, 480 and 565) , but so what, you can't pick exact tops or bottoms.

there is noways this thing just turns around, there are so many people trapped above $400 its going to be painful. every rally from here will be sold with those stuck at higher prices dumping to recover something from their BTC

It looks like Bitcoin will fall lower.

The China-Russia-Iran deal subverting the petrodollar is going to impact everything. I bet a lot of money is migrating into gold, plenty is being sold to cover income taxes on all coins mined by US citizens to date.

Bitcoin isn't anonymous and the IRS has most of the exchanges by the short hairs...

Don't get me wrong; Bitcoin will be pumped by the institution. It's the most powerful financial tracking tool ever created. The allure of a potential global financial instrument which records every transaction without individual anonymity is overwhelming.

Bitcoin will be valuable, but not for the reasons I think it was created...

8/13 Gox was in the game manipulating the price upwards and the Chinese were free to buy and sell all they wanted. What makes someone think the price today should be higher than $120?
Merchants don't give a shit what the price is since they cash out instantly - they see it as a vehicle, not an investment. This whole infrastructure argument is lame.
