I've bought one of these off ebay - very cheap from china but the shipping meant it took AGES!

i can only fit 4 USB miners maximum if i offset them - although this does give me capacity for the two USB fans that are going to blow over the chips... i'll upload a pic once i have it in my PC and setup (it arrived yesterday)

The whole 8-port hub is 150mm wide. The distance between the USB ports is more than enough for USB Eruptors.

Thank you. The 4 port hub is 103 mm wide. I don't think it could fit four USB Erupters simultaneously. The 8 port version should work nicely though, as it's wider, like a DVD drive.

I own a ruler, but no USB Erupters, so I can't really be of service myself. Anyone else?

A quick google came up with this:

http://www.amazon.com/ASICMiner-Block-Erupter-300MH-Sapphire/dp/B00CUJT7TO

Product Dimensions: 3 x 1.4 x 0.5 inches

I'll measure mine when i get home otherwise Wink

3 x 1.4 x 0.5 inches can't be right. Maybe it's the dimensions of the case? 1.4 inches is 35.56 mm. A USB type A plug is 12mm wide, and I estimate from looking at pictures that the whole USB Block Erupter is ~25mm wide.

i agree Smiley the dimensions seemed a little generous - i'll get better ones this evening Smiley

alos any ideas what the max rated power draw on the 4 or 8 port is? the USB Block Erupters need 500ma each? so for 8 thats around 4A right?

I think the miners will fit side by side in the 8 port version, but it might be tight. What are the exact dimensions of a Block Erupter USB?

Will the 8 port fit the usb miners side by side? I thought they were pretty wide. Plus being limited by motherboard USB headers also makes me sadface.

Can anyone recommend some 10+ port usb hubs that are relatively inexpensive? I saw a 49 port but its really expensive, hundreds of dollars. I once bought a 10 port usb hub from china but it was dead on arrival and felt really light and cheap.

I like the idea of a 8 port USB hub, via molex, save on the plugs when you need a lot of them.

8 port model:

Please note that this model has a motherboard USB connector. It's great if you want to hook up the hub to a regular PC motherboard, but if you want to use it with a type A USB port you will need to use an adapter. This model is sized to fit in a 3.5" drive bay, a bit larger than the 4 port version.

I've made a separate link now Smiley

If there's interest, I could list an 8-port model as well.

More efficient on powering, but at the same time its only giving you +3 usbs. That's quite an overhead. Good for stacking as well.

Note the picture is the link.

I've just listed this 4 port USB 2.0 panel hub with molex power connector on Bitmit:

I think this hub can be very useful if you are looking to start mining with USB-powered mining devices. Instead of using one or several inefficient wall-wart power supplies, you can power all your hubs from a single, efficient ATX power supply.
