Topic: Number and geographical distribution of active miners as the health index (Read 1165 times)

This is of uttermost importance and something we need to know. Should this be moved to Development & Technical Discussion so that it doesn't drown in garbage?

I'm aware that this index is very difficult obtain in an accurate manner and it could bring some potential risk but having an idea of how many active miners are working in each jurisdiction would be of massive importance.
I think that the network health and solidity depends essentially on its decentralization and a picture of this topic would give everybody confidence on the "State of the Nation".
I know also that this could lead into making the miners a target for hostile institutions or individuals but aggregated data maybe can be built without compromising their safety and anonymity.
I have googled for some data but all I could find was the number of active full node which I found interesting and important but not essential for the network existence.
Furthermore mining pools should be considered extremely powerful miners or a sum of potential individual miners as long as the health of the network is concerned? I don't have an answer to this question and I'd like to know what you think.
