Would be handy to have that expressed in a simple line chart (x axis=time) viewed by hovering the title.
In theory that suggestion is possible in javascripting as this forum already have it in a few get elements handler it might not be difficult to code it AFAIK, you probably have a well written thread that I don't know of so you came up with a brilliant suggestion.

I'm pretty sure that what's "views" represent right now.

It's not accurate perhaps but there is no way around it, there will be always search engines spiders crawling, or people reading the same thread using different IP's etc. and as for the line chart, this will most likely add only unnecessary loading times to the page.
Reloading of the page add up in views which is not approximately reliable.

And most likely when a person browsing the thread on a night mode it could get sleepy most of the times for waiting on a certain page to load up and if that person has a 30kbps limitation bandthwith.
