Yes as far as I have seen the 1070 would be a better card for mining.
For Ethereum it should be 19MH/s - 21 MH/s
In the other thread someone said 20MH/s and 22MH/s with overclock.
for ethereum? sure that might not be the 1070 specs?
for vertcoin (possibly a better return than ethereum), youd get about 30MH (=/-10%) of lyra2re i expect
I'm the OP of that GTX 1060 announcement and launch thread. Someone in the thread said that is what he got with a founders edition GTX 1060. I even asked in the thread to confirm if it was his value or something he got elsewhere.
Not bad in regards to wattage. Just not the card to spend $300 for exclusively mining since both AMD and nvidia are going above their given prices since the demand is high
The GTX 1070 is more efficient and simply much faster overall. More than worth the extra 120 dollars to step up unless someone else with a GTX 1060 finds better tweaks

i must admit at current price they are good, in comparison with a 1070, not talking about etheruem i don't care
those things should be 15% faster than a 970 on all algo with less wattage
