The real communists (bolsheviks) sit in europe since years, you guys have it 180° wrong, and the propaganda is way superior and on a very high sophisticated level in europe/western countries these days beating the russian propaganda by a huge margin.
War is never the right answer but it seems like putin/russia felt really cornered in.
I am from central europe myself and I can tell you the war is wanted and fueled heavily by our "western" goverments.

GPU maker Nvidia is shutting down its operations in Russia following its earlier decision to stop selling products there. The company is said to be offering employees the chance to continue working for it in another country.
https://www.theregister.com/2022/10/04/nvidia_russia_offices/

Nvidia also opened its office in Russia, located in Moscow, a long time ago. He has been working since 2003. In other words, the representative office is only a few months away from the anniversary.

That's quite unfortunate! But how the war is ongoing, many companies have already closed down their doors in Russia and fired the entire resources. It's great that NVidia has at least given a chance to their employees to work from another country. My company has just closed their office and fired around 75+ employees in Russia. It's really sad to see that innocent people are being impacted because of the decisions made by a communist leader. I really hope this war stops without any further escalations and common people like us gets their due and respect. But the events are suggesting that it is getting into another world war.

Good luck with that! The problem is not a communist leader as he is not the main problem, for me Putin is a puppet and all his close advisers are much but much more hawkish than he is,take Medvedev for example who have clearly threatened with nuclear attacks and the kill of civilians (he then claimed his Telegram account was hacked),now a new deputy in there says if Ukraine joins NATO they are going into WW3,it is inevitable for Ukraine not to join NATO after this mass suffering they are getting.

Unfortunately for the civilians and poor people it will only become worse, the new victims in the war at the front line from Russia were some people from the mobilization that took place and they got there as reservist without proper training,to die like cannon fodder for imperial fantasy dreams of a crazy bunch of people running Russia to their doom. The longer the war the greater the isolation of Russia.

For me Putin is the puppet master forcing those statements. Trump does the same thing. As I recall, when Putin faced presidential term limits
he put his puppet Mevedev in the position then forced him to change the constitution to eliminate term limits so Putin could become President for life.

This time Medvedev is just playing the good puppet again saying things Putin can't say out loud wihout alarming China and india, his only friends left.

BTW Putin is a Czarist, not a Communist.

This is a very dangerous time.

However I agree the closure of Nvidia is not a big deal. The engineers can easilly relocate and I doubt there was any critical research
done there anyway.

This office had the largest gaming performance testing lab. They advised game developers, identified bugs in the operation of various game engines and optimized the software. All famous games of the last 10 years have been tested in this lab, and you say that it doesn't matter much.

I will tell you as a colleague in mining that you attach too much importance to the news.
I can get a work visa or a business visa in one of the Eastern European countries now for about 5,000 dollars, and then I can travel around Europe.
For rich Russians your sanctions will increase spending, for poor Russians, who are the majority, your sanctions don't work because these people don't have money to travel.

How does that help Putin? None of his friends can travel freely.

If they don't let me into Europe, I will spend my money in Turkey, Egypt or in my own country. I think that if sanctions prevent Russians from spending money in Europe, then this is a nail in the coffin for the European economy Smiley

Well Turkey and Egypt and your own country do not look like the most exotic places on earth to visit but I am glad that you are happy while being in such limitations. It is important for you to be happy as even more restrictions and more bad news for the Russian economy are coming and one of them being the latest sanctions which removed completely any crypto transaction while before you had the cap at 10.000 EUR for a Russian wallet in exchanges.

Wake up before your economy completely crumbles to ashes in not a so distant time from now and fight for your own freedom and stop feeding the imperial fantasy dreams of one mad man that has put Russian economy to its knees is my friendliest suggestion to you as a fellow crypto miner.

฿itcoin for all, All for ฿itcoin.
Moving an office of 200-300 people from Russia to another country will create more problems for Nvidia than for Russians. Not all engineers will want to move, and it is very difficult and expensive to prepare a qualified replacement. And very important developments were carried out in the Russian office.
Better than staying there while the rest of Europe and US continue to pile pressure on them and perhaps even sanction them. I think it's a calculated move. They probably took time to think about the consequences, and it's probably why they have taken a while to act, unlike other companies that pulled out in the very first weeks of the war.

How's the market for Nvidia in Russia?

I never find reliable numbers to measure the market of GPUs
What I know from here: there's a lot of Russians who loves PC games and probably lot of miners. In the past I used to rent some hashrate from miningrigrentals, and there's a considerable number of Russian rigs to rent.
But it's hard to find these numbers, specially because they will probably be in russian language.

There's a lot of things happening at the same time, the chips crisis, war in Ukraine, China threatening Taiwan, ETH POW end...

Talking about GPUs, what you guys have available right now? AMD only?

Nvidia doesn't have any choice here due to regulations, if they don't want stop selling on Russia, they can't sell on Western countries which will hurt their company. I think there's will be a fake Nvidia will be created, just like Stars Coffee which is a fake of Starbucks.

Yeah, it's just sad to see the war between Russia and Ukraine has been stopped.
In addition, @OP can consider to move to Asian countries, I think they're still welcome for Russian citizens since they're neutral countries.

Unfortunately the Russian government is putting Russia and its citizens at their knees economically but I am surprised at their citizens accepting the decision of a government who yes has increased the average standard of life of the average Russian during their 2 decades in power but now with the ongoing of the unjustified war of aggression in Ukraine the average Russians have lost much more than they have gained and slowly they are also losing the opportunity to visit many countries because of the latest visa bans from many European countries.

Nvidia decision is just the last nail in the Russian coffin but many more nails will come unfortunately.
