Surely not the self-proclaimed "most transparent administration in history!"  Roll Eyes

I wonder what Senator Obama would have said about the way President Obama is handling things? Remember when he was young and idealistic?
I personally doubt that Obama ever intended to be as transparent as he promised to be. He likely knew that he had a very short political track record so it would be difficult for his opponents and fact checkers to prove that he has a history of not being transparent. Remember that this tagline went away during the 2012 election cycle

My perspective is I do believe he intended to be, but reality crashed the ideals he campaigned on. Once elected, a politician's main objective is to get reelected. All other concerns pale in comparison to this prime directive. That forces them to take actions that are anathema to what they campaigned on, but in their warped mind, they believe they are accomplishing the greater good. Dems/Repubs view the other side as evil; their ideas and their actions, while their party is the 'good' party. Therefore, all actions taken to stay in power to prevent the other side from enacting their 'bad ideas' are accomplishing the greater good.

I honestly believe all politicians think this way. It's how they justify to themselves the total hypocrites they become once elected.
The Obama administration was really never transparent in any way that he promised to be. Right from the start he was more opaque then other administrations. The administration seemed to be much more interested in ramming down liberal legislation down a democrat controlled congress then they were about transparency

The US media being serious about covering Obama would require them admitting that they gave fawning coverage of him for the 2008 and 2012 elections.  There is no way they will admit to that.  In a way, it's kind of poetic justice.

in politics has no eternal friends, but have eternal interest, each interest certainly has its own consequences, sometimes the interest of making political opponents became increasingly sharpened political maneuver to defeat his political opponents, so it has become a norm dirty politics used to drop political opponents, hopefully the political climate is not getting warmer ...  Roll Eyes

The Obama administration has been very aggressive against people who are leaking information to the media that the administration does not want leaked, while intentionally "leaking" information they do want leaked but to not be an "official" stance of the administration.

I would certainly agree with the Washington Post's conclusion, with the most troubling example is when journalists' phone lines were tapped in an effort to find a WH leaker's identity

These liberal elites may be finally calling it what it is yet they still report from the perspective of mostly glorifying big government and misrepresenting or obfuscating any actions to pare it down given the opportunity. They still want an inside track to the regime so they can 'sell' their news of it. This is merely them stating the obvious and hopefully the booby drones will open up their eyes.
