Hey I realized you edited out the front page. Is there a link anywhere for this as I would love to link this for the older bmminer mods on my other thread.

Hello guys,

So is the free version still available? I saw that there is supposed to be a for sale version to use for more than 10 machines?

***  Some info for those with T9+ based off my machine ****

I have a T9+ and using 870 mV, 675 freq, have customize fan speed at 50%, and i left the box checked for going over 90 degrees since this is the first time i have used any software before with the miner.

With this I am averaging 12,511.71 GH/s and the temps are ranging from 80-86 on different chains.  But my fan is constantly running at 6,120 so I gotta figure out that since I dont want it running full speed.  But hope this helps someone

:/ ok. And how can I get back to the state before? Can I install new firmware? I want to have the option to return to the factory settings in case something goes wrong. I have 4 more devices and I would also set them up

again i ... can anyone tell me how to backup the BBMINER? so I can restore the default. I asked for a google but did not find it. now the temperature is great for OC but in the spring I will probably have to reduce the frequency and voltage ....

for now i deploy one device and i have 4 more ... so i do not spoil something ....

P.S.

and what is the default voltage? the frequency is from 568 MHz to 575 MHz ...

Hi,

I did backup config before deploy on "upgrade" page.

if I now restore my backup on the same page, will everything be as before deploy?

No. That just backed up the user settings, pools and such.

It did not create a backup of your firmware.

Ya, it's actually the LPM which doesn't like overclocking on some boards, especially the 13.5 machines or older 14TH.

I plan on putting some more work into finding a solution for this in the following weeks, until then, the best solution for LPM is
the original firmware on bitmain without overclock.

There are some users which were lucky and it worked, so always test on a few machines before mass deployment.

Hi Alex,

This last firmware not work with S9i. Do you have source code on your code? provide-me and i made a correction.

Regards.

J-F Aubin

Hi, make sure you flash the original firmware before applying this patch, may users had other overclocking mods which are
not allowing this one to work. You can either reset to factory or flash the autotune version for your miner.

There's no source code for this yet, I was able to disable fan check by modifying binary code and to overclock from the single board test.
Single board test code is available on bitmain github, and you apply same changes that I've applied on my video for bmminer.
The fan disable version is not made public, if offered only paid by PM or discord.

Good luck!

I think you tried when the tool was not detecting which miner version it is, s9 or t9. The latest one will know which bmminer to copy.

yes i agree !! but i using one bmminer original (no compiled by me) , i don't think that problem for other machine (may be i don't reason), on my S9 i tested 7 x bmminer, i try man !!! lol

on the other hand I am disappointed that no more people try your mod Sad on paper it is the best for my taste!

Try getting the single-board test from the package and the rest of the files and use your original bmminer with it. Single-board test should be able to overclock any bmminer

About people no trying the mod, probably because I am a newbie on this forum, and there are more established threads with overclocking topic.

Good luck!

Hi ! i tested your firmware, but i'm sorry din't working for me... only 11 200Gh/s at 725mhz and set 900mv Sad

no subject, i continue to dev my code, and now i'm ready to change voltage by 5mv .... for exemple i tested 885mv, 890mv, 895mv and more ! well done ! perfect working ! and show on kernel log (and verify by my power plug counter)

Ya.. it's triky to get it working on some machines, needs debuging when is not working. We usually do a lot of tests for the farms we work with on deploying custom firmware. Good luck with your code! It's always the best to choose the tools that works for your case as what worked for others might not work for you.

Not LPM ... but I use the last official BMMINER of an S9 without changing it, and he finds, by chance, he accepts the change of tenssion! : d

I just work a few hours (to find the apel code), the advantage is that the BMMINER is the last, so compatible with any hashboard (i think),

on the other hand, I tried my mod, but with another BMMINER, but that does not change the tenssion ...

I am currently running a 13.5 to 15.3Th / 1600W / 725mhz / 900mv

In my tests I was using 675, getting ~14.2 with 1350W and 890mv on a 13.5 old machine on antpool or btc.com, slush doesn't like LPM yet. The wattage varies from machine to machine, mainly
lower Voltages will use less power.

ha !!! All my excuses, I saw in the kernel that the tenssion did not change, so I did not bother to continue my test: s

On the other hand, after many tests, I am happy to say that I just finished my code on "set-miner-config" and "minerconfiguration.cgi" which works perfectly with a BMMINER of ogirine, I manage to take the control freq, fan, and tenssion, all with the right temperature card, and everything is well displayed in kernel log !!! I'm happy: p

but your LPM OC deserves that I look more closely !!!, if this is independent of BMMINER, then it should be compatible T9 +? without copying bmminer of corse;) I always try to increase the tenssion on a T9 +;)

Glad to hear you work on your version as well. Let me know how your version works, it's indeed nice if you can set it just from the minerconfiguration.cgi, I did not check that as there are some funky ways of setting voltage on the PIC. Does your version work with LPM as well ?

Good luck!

I try this on my S9 13.5Th, by flashing on interface web.

Freq and asicboost work perfect ! but not voltage Sad ...

I set 700mhz and 900mv and apply , the miner boot correctly at 700mhz but 870mv ...

Hi, the voltage and freq is being set from outside bmminer on this version because of the closed source code which was not released yet, you are not going to see in the logs of bmminer saying the voltage. You will see a message called Custom Overwrite set pic voltage=%d on chain[%d] where the logs for bmminer starts after it finished booting.

The nice part of this firmware mod is that it should work with any version of bmminer, just replace the single-bard test file (and the interface files) on your regular firmware and is going to overclock voltage and freq, making it
easier for those antminer s9 versions which were not compatible with the open source firmware.

My experiance on 2 x T9 + is:

675Mhz - 810Mv (display in kernel log) and about 12.4 Ths for 1400W at maturity

Strongly your Bmminer that I can adjust the voltage! because to mount the Freq does not give good result because the card hash moin quickly ...

Installation & Config:

1. Flash this from the upgrade page on the miner dashboard, the last option which says: Flash new firmware image
2. After the machine reboots, on the config page (http://192.168.xxx.xxx/cgi-bin/minerConfiguration.cgi) set the following:
    a. checkbox to enable fixed freq to enable setting frequency
    b. Set a frequency for overclock
    c. checkbox to allow voltage setting
    d. set a voltage (start from 890 to 920) for freq between 675 and 750.
    e. Press apply to save the settings.
3. Please report if it worked for you or not, as some users have problems setting this up and I am trying to understand if it's miners version or is Error Code: PEBCAK

Hi Alex,
I have problems with s9i 14 TH. The temp chip comme to 99 and 100. Before the update, the temperature is 72 to 74. I restore bmminer.conf, *.cgi files and bmminer executable and the s9 come to 72. Did you have this problems with S9i?

Thanks a lot!

Hi, there have been some issues with newer miners than the source code available on github. I am working now on a version which is going to be compatible with any miner version, including the latest so called "asic boost" low power firmware which is
just released. From what I understand it might be no time soon source code available, so I have found a workaround on setting frequency, voltage and will try disabling fans as well.

I am still trying to figure if there's any asic boost at all in the latest firmware or if it's better power management combined with different algorithm of communication with the pool.. Anways, will keep you updated.

Unfortunately I will be charging for the next firmware update because of the complexity of the task.

Hi, I finally managed to get an S9! and I tried your mod, and for the S9 it works perfectly (I only recover the files)! play well;)

The only downside, the reporter's temperature seems much higher than the reality ... and moreover the fan-fixed operation has been removed?

in my test, I also flash firware S9J on my S9 13.5, and pushing the minor on the frequencies, the kernel displays voltage - 454? at take it will seem that it runs under 900mv I pence, and rises very easily at 16Th;)
But this is only for information;)

Hi, I've seen some cases where temperature looks different from original, that's because there are so many versions of boards, will try to split the firmware in multiple board versions in the future if possible, but for this will need to test on a lot of machine types and is not an easy process.

In the meanwhile there's an update to the deployment tool available. I made it to detect the miner version and copy the proper bmminer, there were quite a few users which put the wrong settings when deploying to T9+.
http://torrent-miner.com/tools/Antminer-MassDeployer-v.1.0.zip , also a video on how to use the tool: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XkB6ymB01c4

I think the problem is windows 7 not having some libraries to load this. This script is made with python and compiled, it contains all the libraries needed to run ssh commands and python it's self, which is about 7-8 MB,
that's how python gets compiled to run as an .exe .

We plan making this in a different language in case we decide to make this in the end a project to focus on, it will be smaller in size when done in c# or c++.

You can also try running this as Administrator, see if it's doing any difference. Will install a VM in the following days to test on other windows versions, as I am working with win10 and it's where it's compiled on.

the spaces are the result of the translator (I'm french)
the xxxx are my masked name (I'm stupid lol)

I just decompression in a folder, configure the "ip_list.txt" with the ip address of my minor 192.168.1.xx and inform minerversion = T9 + in the "config.txt"

And run in admin mode the deploy.bat, i run with windows 7 pro

I think the problem comes from your software that will look for the DLL ==> AppData \ Local \ Temp \ _MEI23962 \ python36.dll '

but it does not find it because I do not have it ... and it's not a common file for DLLs ... I'm wrong?

Off topic but a question ... your bmminer-deploy.exe does 8MB? it seems huge to me for simple scrypt ....

I would suggest trying in a more friendly path location, without xxx spaces and others. And run the .bat file after setting the config file.
You can place it in D:/bmminer-deploy or something like this, see if you still get an error.

Which windows you run it ? I work with windows 10.

yes;) it's already what I did:

Before i connection only hashboard for test

1 - remove original Bmminer
2 - copy Bmminer-T9 +
3 - rename to bmminer
3 - Attribution of the right attribute
4 - replace minerConfiguration.cgi
5 - delete from minerConfiguration2.cgi (if in doubt)
6 - in page configuration, modified the value and apply

and after you know more ...

In my newer version I added a set_miner_conf.cgi to setup the extra veriables I added to turn off or on voltage setting, that must be added otherwise it will not write properly the config file.

There are some files which you did not copy/set. I am not going over the entire logic of the tool, as the purpose is not to teach others to program or how to make their own tools for this.

This bmminer file is made to include new interface variables. If you want your own bmminer, stripped of the interface stuff, you can use the video to build a bmminer and set things inside bmminer
then build every time you want to change a value.

Hope it makes sense. Spend a little more time with this if you want to do it your own way then in 1-2 days can post your solution, we are crowding this topic already.

it's more than 3 months that my T9 + turn at about 12.5Ths without problem, I had tweak this minor since long time: p

so I prayed the Bmminer T9 + that I copy on my minor, I also gave him the right to know rwxr-xr-x ...

I do not see where the mistake is ... anyway it is absolutely necessary to execute your deployer? Did I miss something ?

I must recognize that the possibility of changing the tension of your bmminer greatly interests me: p

Do a search on youtube for my video where I show to build the bmminer and how to install it, I am not sure if I am allowed to post
youtube links on this forum, but you should be able to find it easy enough. The tool was made for mass deploy, so for 1 machine I guess is not
really needed if you know what you are doing. It's helpful to learn anyway what needs to be done. I guess you renamed bmminer_t9+ to bmminer .

Also, you can try with one board if you are unsure of your results, maybe you have a different T9+ miner, who knows.

Thank you I know lol I'm not at my test shot on the minor, I'm also in hardware! Wink

on your tweak, i did not run the "bmminer-deploy.exe" but i just copy the "bmminer-t9 +" and "minerconfiguration" on my minor, i got the config page, i take 700mhz and 870mv ...

But that did not work, I took care not to use the bmminer-S9 but beautiful and well the T9 + bmminer;)

not sure what to say, I did that tool to avoid doing this kind of support because there are some steps which must be followed when copying these files, permissions set etc.

Someone on my discord channel got it overclocked to 13.7 using same files, also had issues before using the deploy tool.

The guy on discord used 750 frequency, but temp was 100 deg, a bit to much I would say. Let me know if you manage to do it, I am sure you would find a way eventually if you don't
want to use my tool.

on your tweak, i did not run the "bmminer-deploy.exe" but i just copy the "bmminer-t9 +" and "minerconfiguration" on my minor, i got the config page, i take 700mhz and 870mv ...

But that did not work, I took care not to use the bmminer-S9 but beautiful and well the T9 + bmminer;)

I tested this for T9+!!! but ... i'm sorry, big problem, PIC SW error see :

[...]

i restored my board with my PicKit3

Hi,

It seems that you did not read nor the post nor the read me file. You deployed with the config left for S9.

I plan to add a check for the miner version and choose bmminer automatically, but I will implement that when I have some free time.

For now you open config.txt and for minerversion type T9+

Great! so, if I understand correctly, can not change the voltage via this BMMINER for T9 + but only the ratio "voltage / freq" has been changed?

in addition, your BMMINER for T9 + thus brings the freq control, and the deactivation of the fan check?

I'm just going to take the BMMINER and the configuration page and test all that to see how it's done;)

Hi, no, you can change voltage and freq independently, you just need to be more careful with the readme files delivered with this kind of scripts.

Good luck!

Hi,

I finished testing today bmminer for T9+ and it runs stable for 3 days without issues, I tested with 675 Freq and 920 mv, had 12.3 TH/s. I did not had time to measure power, but is not much
I can do in the bmminer anyway, this is tweaking of voltage per frequency ratio. If you have the chance to test it, would be great to post the results here as well.

I updated the deploy tool and contains now a setting to switch between bmminer for T9 and S9.

One thing to be careful, is to make sure you deploy for the right machine, the bmminer from the S9 has a different firmware version for the pic which controls voltage on the board
and it can make the firmware of the pic rewriten and fail to boot up. It can be fixed by rewriting the PIC software from a working board, but it's easier to be careful in the first place.

In the future I might add this check for machine version in the deployment tool to autodetect the miner, that will allow deploying on mixed ip list.

Here's the download link:
http://torrent-miner.com/tools/bmminer-deploy-S9-T9+.zip

Again, no dev fees, I will update this thread in case I change my mind in this matter, for now I am still making my mind if I should ask money for bmminer or for deployment tools, some feedback would be greately
apprecciated! We need to get some cash support as well to keep adding new features, but I want to make sure that the stuff we release is helpful for others as well and that we develop in the right direction.

I saw a lot of versions on the forum changing config files, installing .sh scripts on the miner, running online 3rd party miner management interface, so I am not sure what users really want. This would be
an interesting quizz I guess.

Good luck! Smiley

Hi, I am still running stability tests of the bmminer, I don't think running at 14 TH/s will be ok for T9+ with regular cooling, so far I run it for 2 days on 12.3 TH/s with a freq of 675 . With 675 MHz it stays at 83 Chip temp, which is resonable.

I did not do any consuming tests, as this is not usually my thing to do, the clients tune their machine by their environment, hashing rate required, wattage etc.

I will post an upgrade soon which will include T9+ firmware and a config to switch between which miner you want to deploy.

very nice...thanks for your contribution to mining community!

is the T9 available yet? cat it oc as well to 14TH?

What conssomation?

my T9 + test indicates

Code:
Fix freq = 643 Chain [1] voltage_pic = 28 value = 820
Fix freq = 643 Chain [2] voltage_pic = 28 value = 820
Fix freq = 643 Chain [8] voltage_pic = 28 value = 820

perfectly stable at 7.9Ths and 0.0003% hw (only 2 hashboard) and 920W

Hi,

It's just one minerConfiguration.cgi in the package because there are 2 files the same, but with different name. I replace both files on the miner.

For T9+, I tested and foltage setting works fine. I set it to 675 mhz and 920 mv for now to see how it holds. I think 930 or 940 is the hardware limit set on the pic as well as on the s9.

Will post an update to this thread when it's live.

Hi, that makes me look nice! I nevertheless "find" a problem, in the "set-miner-config" ...

Code:
cp /www/pages/cgi-bin/minerConfiguration2.cgi /www/pages/cgi-bin/minerConfiguration.cgi -f

This will just erase the new configuration page once "apply" ... a simple oversight?

As far as I'm concerned, I'm looking forward to the Bmminer for T9 + because it's actually exactly what I'm working on now, because of the decreasing voltage variant with freq, I'm limited to 12.5Ths stable in overclock (1400W at wall).

Hey guys,

I have decided to make our deploy tool available, as many asked for a complied bmminer after I did the video on how to compile it from bitmain git source.

There's no dev fees, the only limitation is that you can deploy to 10 machines at the time using the tool. We plan making a full version available
for sale in case there will be more users requesting it.

Let me know what kind of features would be helpful for such a tool, I included the things I needed in our production environment and deploying to
other clients, but there might be interesting suggestions from others which I would like to hear.

Here's the tool: http://torrent-miner.com/tools/bmminer-deploy-demo.zip

The features:
1. IP list with machines to deploy to
2. No other scp / ssh needed, the miner will reboot automatically after deploy
3. It keeps settings on the bmminer.conf, including pool and username (useful when you deploy to machines in a working environment)
4. You have a bmminer.conf template where you can modify default settings like voltage and freq to be automatically set on all machines
5. Shows in console which machines were successfully deployed and which failed to connect to
6. In the interface you can disable fan check, this is helpful for those which are using alternative cooling.

I also managed to build the bmminer for Antminer T9+ and I will be releasing that soon as well.

Good luck!

Alex
