I agree, octopus is nice choice for 3060, but ETH much more stable. And i agree again, that there are other coins, that we can mine with 3060 more profitable then ETH. But $80 is not a high price to mine everything without any restrictions.

Any gpu you buy at msrp is a good deal at moment regardless of the hashrate because you could in turn become a scalper yourself hehe, I mean buy at msrp and then sell for at least 100% profit, buy for 400 usd and then sell for 800 usd to idiots.
Sure. But i have no opportunity to get such prices. I`ve bought some GPUs last summer-autumn(there were nice prices Smiley ) and sold old GPUs february-march. I think it was nice deal.

if you are USA based newegg has the shuffle I got six cards at small markups from them since January.

Thx. Im not USA based, but i have relatives in USA that can try to buy. How much times - does not matter, this is just an additional chance.

I`d preffered 3060ti. For ETH it`s much better then 3060(for this moment) and for other coins - it`s better or same. If ETH goes to PoS - 3060 hash will be little less then 3060ti, but if ETH will be PoW for 2-3 months - you will mine at this time all price difference.

yeah that might be true, however 3060Ti for 1200Eur or 3060 for 550-800 its big difference here.. i can convert cfx to eth if needed, yes it will be less, but 400eur is big difference and i dont think i will mine 400 for each card in addition what i would mine regularly. however that's my opinion taking into account my local situation.
philipma1957 tells about 20% difference between them. and it is about $100 if i understand everything correct.
PS. i want to buy any of these GPU for such prices Smiley

I paid 399 + 28 tax = 427 for this 3060 and I have six months to pay.

So why not it makes enough with octopus to justify using it  for 428 price.

I only buy from newegg when I hit the newegg shuffle I buy the card offered.

They are close to retail price.

I am using rtx 3060, PL 75, core +100, mem +1000

best efficiency is when using PL65 - 329Mhs (377khW) or PL70 345Mhs (371khW)

Interesting finding on my end.

I have tried same clocks as i was using for ETH to mine CFX but i am getting much lower hash rate. (Mining ETH i get 63-64 per card, total power draw around 1200W / 10 GPUs)
My problem is if i give it more power i will reach PSU limits as i have 10 cards in this rig:

Do you have any suggestion of how should i optimize this to get as much as possible hash power.

PSU i am using is EVGA 1600 G+

Add another power supply, you will pay for it in a day.

'The right to privacy matters'
thinking of getting 4-5 3060 over 6700xt's.  octopus still looking profitable, at least short term(fingers crossed Grin)

I can't justify buying AMD now.  Once eth is pos your algos are very limited with AMD compared to Navidia.

I wonder if eth will go pos.

It may simply alter fees structure and tweak algo.

still runnning the one card it was hot the other day and I shut down but it is making more than 2 bucks a day.

it made 0.0006 btc in 11 days

and it was shut down 1 whole day on friday.

0.0006 btc = 33 usd

so it would pay off in around 130 days for me.

What miner are you using?  T. Rex runs on my 2060 supers at 44-47 but won't run on my 3060s in SMOS.

try these miners
https://help.nanopool.org/article/203-nbminer
https://help.nanopool.org/article/204-nanominer-nvidia
Perhaps there are no normal drivers for Linux. 3060 is still used for mining on Windows.
Wait for driver updates or update miners from the list

I turned off all gear today as it is too hot.

but the octopus was smos and nbminer

nbminer-nebutech-v36.1

-a octopus -o stratum+tcp://octopus.eu-west.nicehash.com:3389 -u 1JdC6Xg3ajT3rge3FgPNSYYFpmf53Vbtje.oct --api 127.0.0.1:22333

works great and makes about $1.75 a day

Which is okay. but not as good as eth.

i'm not expecting octopus for long run on rtx 3060, need eth or other algo, octopus to low for big miner and at this point prfitable by the coin on rise/pump and will ended on lower profit after downturn

nice mining on rtx laptop feel clumsy and kurky at same time lol

Will be fun to watch.

i'm guessing you are running the 3060 on linux and can't get the new driver?

My 3060 is in a PC that only has the PCIE2.0 slot, and NVIDIA still blocks it, Eth mining at 22.

My Octopus setting are PL 72%, +220,+1088, 125w in NBminer, with a hash of 44.89.

I notice you are getting slightly better than mine, can you share your settings?

smos

  -500
+1900
   120 watts. for the 3060

win 10 nice hash for the 3060ti
msi afterburner

pl 52%
core?
ram?
125 watts

does 59mh for eth  with nicehash/phoenix

Here is a fun thread.

1x 3060 running octopus at nicehash. https://www.nicehash.com/my/miner/1JdC6Xg3ajT3rge3FgPNSYYFpmf53Vbtje

1x 3060ti running eth at nicehash. https://www.nicehash.com/my/miner/146UJM5kgzLVUV23CXCf33KQKHckoX1gx3

both at 0 coin. I will run this for 8 weeks and show totals each week.

the 3060 is an evga cost me 435

https://www.evga.com/products/product.aspx?pn=12G-P5-3657-KR

the 3060ti is an aorus cost me 513

https://www.gigabyte.com/Graphics-Card/GV-N306TAORUS-M-8GD#kf

the aorus has mined for 100 days earning over 500 usd worth of eth. power cost was about 70. so it has earned back over 430

We know octopus does not pay  what eth pays.

but. my 3060 was only 435 it has earned back some Since it arrived on March 2

The prior numbers do not concern me. it is the from now on that matters to me.
