An official account of the history of God has been made for you to worship and obey. Your rulers have met and decided what stories should be considered true. Other stories you may believe in are against the law now and you will be punished for such thinking. You should begin switching over your temples in accordance with the new religion of the glorious empire.

Your pal,
-Emperor Constantine

I wonder how many people would follow the bible now if it were just created? What if Obama decided to make his own version of the Koran and made it a state religion? That is how we got the bible we use now.
It seems that many people are unaware of how the bible was created. Early Christians did not have a bible. They did have a large collection of stories, many more than you see in the bible. This presented a problem for the Romans when they finally joined in and made it the state religion.  Many early scriptures were anti-roman or conflicted with the official stance of the empire.
The solution was to create an officially approved “bible” of stories that were consistent with Roman laws and sensibilities. A large, but unknown, number of scriptures were thrown out. Scriptures that Christians of that time believed in. That is where the bible we know came from.

If you were living then, would you obey?
