Hindus believe in Brahman as the one true God who is formless, limitless, all-inclusive, and eternal. Brahman is not an abstract concept; it is a real entity that encompasses everything

A Hindu activist have been brutally tortured and murdered by the Muslims in Karnataka, India. Paresh Mesta of Honnavar was tortured beyond belief, and still the cops have called it normal death under the orders from the pro-Muslim state government.

The results of the Australian Census of 2016 are out. Hindus are one of the fastest growing population groups! There are now a total of 440,300 Hindus in Australia, constituting close to 2% of the Australian population.

Hi everyone... In the Politics section I saw a lot of threads discussing Islam and Christianity. But I was surprised that there was no mention about the third largest religion in the globe (Hinduism). Please use this thread for discussions regarding Hinduism.

I also wonder if there is any source explaining Hinduism here. I really wonder its dicipline.

You can get a lot of information about Hindusim from these websites:

https://www.himalayanacademy.com/readlearn/basics/nine-beliefs

The English translation of the Bhagvad Gita is available in PDF format. If you want, I can post it here. It is a great inspirational book, written some 2,200 years back (in BC 200).

BTW, Hinduism is not a business minded religion like Islam and Christianity. So don't expect the "Missionaries" telling you that you will burn in hell unless you convert to their religion.

Hinduism is the third largest religion in the world, in terms of followers. But every year it is losing adherents, due to conversions to Islam and Christianity. It is estimated that one million Hindus convert to other religions every year.

Certainly Hinduism is something extremely complex, so here's my question: Do you think that Hinduism is really a religion or was it something created by Europeans to bring together various religious systems ans philosophy schools into one denomination to facilitate European understanding and dominion over India?

Hinduism is the name given by the Europeans for the native religious practices (they named the religion after the river Indus, along which it originated), which were based on the Indo-Aryan culture. The religion itself was not created by the Europeans. Just the name came from them. The original name is "Sanatan Dharma".

Hinduism is not actually religion, but a way of life..a culture that was born in Indus valley (Indus=Hindu)

That is a myth spread by the Christians and Muslims, to downgrade Hinduism and to convert the people who follow that religion. The fact is that Hinduism is the oldest religion in the world, and the holy books were written more than 5,000 years back. I agree that Hinduism is different from the Semitic religions, as it is not money minded.

Hindus, Balochs in US condemn arrest of Hindu man in Pakistan

http://indianexpress.com/article/india/hindus-balochs-condemn-arrest-of-hindu-man-in-pakistan-4643049/

Quote
Members of the Hindu and Baloch communities in the US have strongly condemned the arrest of a 35-year-old Hindu man in Pakistan over alleged blasphemy and sought intervention of the State Department. Prakash Kumar, a crockery shop owner, was arrested in the Hub area of southwestern Balochistan province on Wednesday for allegedly sending blasphemous content through WhatsApp after police’s timely intervention saved him from being lynched by a mob.

I fail to understand why the Indian government is giving prioritized treatment for Muslims in this country, when Hindus are treated like subhumans in Pakistan.
