Who the fiddly fuck complains about tips?

Whilst I think it's a nice gesture, I'm sure they'll just look at you like you've just given them monopoly money.

I hope whoever was so pissed about getting that tip threw it away. Just to realize now that the tip he was so righteously pissed off about is worth $116 now.

yeah, damn waiter thought it's not worth to google and shizzle for 6$ Cheesy

Someone has generously taken the time to introduce you to honest, sound money that could potentially gain a lot of purchasing power and lead you to discover how the fiat scam works.  For the love of God, you should be grateful, it's not like he gave you a Zimbabwe Dollar!

he should of wrote that on the paper..

It took me reading this more than three times to understand why the person who posted this was angry, how is giving a waiter 0.2 Bitcoins a bad thing? Especially considering the rise in value Bitcoins just had recently lol!

Wow, that's one of the most assholish ways I've ever seen to treat a waiter/ress. If that was my standard pub he'd get barred from entry for life.

"Here's a tip in mysterious cyber money: equivalent of some USD if you can figure it out. Or call me maybe? 1-800-WHOSYOURDADDY. You won't mind if I just hand you this supercool new cyber money on a folded printout I carefully crafted and secured in my left back pocket myself, do you?"

I'd probably not take it knowing what it is.

No wait. I would! MOAR TEH BITCOINZ!!

Actually this article is fairly useful.

As an example of how not to do it.

Just saw this on Tumblr:

I was fairly surprised to see the reactions:

veryangrymouse:

myresin:
What the hell is that? I’m not even sure I get what they’re talking about on the search I just did.

veryangrymouse:
Bitcoin is pretty much internet libertarian monopoly money.

gtnakawaiidesu:
this is the worst thing I have ever seen

kaolincash:
bitcoins are actually a really good idea because it’s impossiible for bitcoin currency to have inflation, the currency is always worth the same amount and it’s translatable into any other currency, just like any other currency. you can take those .2 bitcoins and convert them into $6.38 as soon as you get tipped if you want, you people need to not damn unfamiliar concepts as soon as you see them
its not the concept of bitcoins that frustrates people here its just the presumptuous attitude of the tipper that is basically forcing the waiter/waitress to use bitcoins just to earn the tip they deserve

dont ever force people into using/doing things that they dont need to use or do

arisonas:
Bitcoins are volatile and difficult to cash out, and even if they tried to buy something directly with the bitcoin (very few options, mostly illegal shit), there’s a good chance they’d be defrauded.  I’m familiar with bitcoins, kaolincash - familiar enough to know that you’re full of it.

What’s more, people who have left tips in bitcoins have talked about periodically going through and “sweeping”, essentially revoking the transactions if the worker hasn’t had the time to work through bitcoin’s completely fucking broken system.  That’s convenient, isn’t it?  You get to Spread the Word and then if they don’t have the time or resources to figure out how to retrieve the money they’ve earned from you, you get to take it back.

Don’t go to restaurants if you’re not going to tip the workers in currency they actually use.

veryangrymouse:
I hope the internet libertarian who pulled this bullshit is never going to eat there again, because antics like this are not forgotten.
