I saved the code, checked sha sum. Then boot a machine without internet connection from a linux live cd, generate and print keys, and shut everything down. I wish the ammount of coins involved justifiied such paranoia.

Bingo! Yes, a live cd is definitely a great option to make sure the system is not compromised.

You can just download the whole thing to your computer, then turn off internet connection and safely create your paperwallet.

I may be a little paranoid, I would create a virutal marchine and run it in virtual, with host offline. Then delete the whole virutal marchine after get the cold wallet.

Hehe,

maybe too paranoid?

I like bitaddress.org's functionalities, but feel never comfortable to run a wallet generating software on a web browser. How can we 100% sure the generated key pair is not uploaded somewhere/sometime?

I think bitaddress.org is legit and reasonably trustful, but in the case of producing cold wallet, strong caution should be employed and it is better we can have a offline version of this cool software to use for cold wallet purposes.
