You shouldn't give such importance to those stats as half of bitcointalk users are profile spammers who only register to leave a link on their profile page...
The above reason also accounts for the male:female ratio lol

Super awesome for Ogrr and Bitcoin!!

Spekulatius, thanks for posting those stats. That forum is roughly the same size as BitcoinTalk.org!

Errr, thanks for thanking me, but I would disagree with the forum size.
Left aside the big difference with the total user count (bitcointalk totals more then 3 times as many),
our board also seems to grow faster (64.65 average registrations per day vs. 32.35 on mmoexchange.com). Dont know, that could also be because they dont have Atlas!

When I look at the data indicating user activity, I suprised assertain that there is about the same average post count as here, with only 1/3 of the user base! Whitch could possibly mean their users are 3 times as active or, that we just have a lot of Atlas sockpuppets. On "Average topics per day", they even surpass our board by 27.2%!
Most importantly is probably the "Average online per day" counter, as it indicates that their active user base is only about 1/3rd smaller then ours. So all that said, I have to give you credit for what you said. Their board and ours are about equally sized. Now WHAT can that mean for bitcoin demand!??

The best value for me is actually the "Male to Female Ratio". Just look at it:

bitcointalk: 2.6:1
mmoexchange.com: 14.1:1 !!

Congratulations on the membership increase.

I see many sites like to quote their number of members.

I think some more interesting stats are the following:

- Unique visits pr. day
- Members logged in the last week and month.

Some sites claim to have 20000 members or more, and yet there's not even 1000 active members,
ie. members logging in regularily, so the numbers is a bit deceiving in that regard.

It would be interesting to know what the daily/monthly turnover in BTC from ogrr and mmoexchange.net is.

That way one could estimate how much more bitcoin will be demanded in a couple of month when the mmoe user base may have largely adopted BTC.

Will this be the beginning of many such aquisitions of different MMOG like Eve, WoW and others alike?

What will be the effects on bitcoin acceptance, usage around the web?

The network effect just keeps compounding ...

Nice move ogrr people!

Today the merger of mmoexchange.net (14643 Members) and ogrr.com (3611 Members) into the henceforth address: ogrr.com was announced.
http://www.mmoexchange.net/forums/index.php?topic=60228.0

The mmoe user base will be directly converted to ogrr accounts and is invited to utilize the integrated trading and escrow system of ogrr.com, which uses bitcoin as a standard means of exchange, but they can use any currency they prefer.

After month of stagnation this move by team ogrr (Diablo II and III based) seems to be a smart and hopefully not too costly investment into their future. mmoexchange.net is a place for mainly Rune Scape oriented users to trade items and ingame currency for paypal, USD, Western Union and others. Meanwhile Runescape on ogrr.com, although offered in a subforum, did not get any attention, as most users come here to trade bitcoin for Diablo II and III items/Gold.

Will this be the beginning of many such aquisitions of different MMOG like Eve, WoW and others alike?

What will be the effects on bitcoin acceptance, usage around the web?

Pls discuss!
