After having faithfully HODLing on to XRP, reasoning that its goals is different from the other cryptos, this have finally broken my resolve.

Ripple (XRP) is centralized and terribly flawed, researchers say

The developing world will anchor Stellar (XLM) growth

Hold your horses! It is true that Ripple has a bad rep from Crypto entusiast because it is more centralized than any other cryptocurrency. However, it has got a thumbs up form all banks all over the world so you should not dump it just yet. Besides it is no different from Stellar. You should keep both coins as they will do well

I started out with buying Ripple but after reading more and more on the subject I do not have great beliefs in it anymore. I think you can invest the money better, for me that is in Ethereum and DeepOnion at the moment. Otherwise finding a good ICO might be interesting, I chose for APEX recently.

I'm not really a big fan of those coins. Prefer to invest in Ethereum and 3.0 blockchains such as Aion, Cardano, and Aeternity.

I've read that Stellar is not centralised right now but has a big risk of centralisation because of the lack of incentives for node owners, the only entities that will run massive nodes of future will be banks and companies if ever and they will not leave the system to be decentralised.

But I think Stellar is a good compromise (a middle ground); where it potentially will have centralised nodes distributed (decentralised) between different corporations/banks/government run nodes.

Whereas for Ripple, the centralisation is concentrated all in a single company, which give one single entity way too much power to dictate transactions + so much FUD going around with it. It certainly would not be the next Bitcoin. A more plausible but unlikely (ATM) contender might be LTC, or even BCH.

Also perhaps an open source project by the community can be created to enable nodes or distributed partial nodes in a cloud-network to be run by individuals on their computers/mobiles too, as an add-on to the existing framework.

I see selected big banks and corporations adopting XRP + perhaps speculators rushing into buying it. But I see more potential for Stellar to be more widely adopted by the daily/normal people (coupled by small businesses and banks too), and a community to be formed around it.

Well, I've already said my stance on Ripple. It reminds me so much of Ethereum, except that it's even more corporate and deliberately allied itself with big banks. It's never going to be a coin I believe in, but the facts I just mentioned will somehow mean that it will get the same centralized push of Ethereum to grow its price in the market. So it's for sure a good coin to look at for profits for the current outlook. Maybe even a year or two beyond. Stellar as you know has brilliant marketing. They've also got good work going on the ground, so at least that is something to root for if you're a holder.

Not any of them instil confidence in me beyond the next couple of years, though.
Ripple will never become Ethereum because they have different usage. Ripple is only used for payment and that's it, while Ethereum used as a gas for token transactions and could also be used for payment. One more advantage of  Ethereum is that it has a very low coin supply compared to Ripple.

MST Decentralize Robust AI Trading Platform!
I did not invest my money in either the first or second coin. It seems to me that they both do not justify the essence of decentralization. However, if you choose between them, then Stellar looks more promising investment. At least in this time period.

Why not get out of that circle of centralized currencies and try other things. You just made a decision in which it is just like putting an apple into another group of an apple while there is a mango beside it.  Grin

It wont hurt much to do it. Just a little research and maybe you will see yourself in a better position. I am not against XRP but something is really not good in that.

Ripple seems to be the go to coin for people who just got into crypto. They think it will be the next bitcoin, because in their minds ripple has much more room to grow than bitcoin has. But time after time BTC has proven to be king of crypto, this is why I do not own ripple. Besides why would the central bank, make the Ceo of ripple even richer than he is now. It makes much more sense for central banks to make their own coin instead of using ripple. I think they will just use ripple for experimentation, so shortterm/midterm ripple will be profitable to hold but not longterm imo. When the banks release their own coin what use does ripple have?

Heh, m8, but stellar is same as Ripple, if I were you, I would stay very far away from, Ripple, Stellar, Bitcoincash, Tether, some say even NEO is not good because they have a kill switch.

A lot of currencyes are here only for and because of money, the good ones will prevail...  The most common that will live long enogh: Litecoin, Ethereum, Monero, also I have a few of my own, but that depends on every single user, the trick is you should allways know what you're investing in...

I'm fully agree. I don't like XRP. It's no crypto as I mean. But for money and profit speculation why not? I'm together with team that make something new and unique. But I need some money that's why XRP is in my portfolio also

I wouldn't put my money in to either as they're both pretty shady but from a pure aiming for profit point of view I would've stuck with ripple. It's more well known and if a large scale recovery comes then money will flow in to it just like it did at the last big pump in December. People with little idea of what they're doing will much more likely put money in to XRP than XLM.

Ripple and Stellar have a lot in common, but some things have been refined, for me, the two coins will be one of the best coins, because both technologies, adopted by many world-renowned banks, including my country

Switching to Ripple's more decentralized younger brother (since both are at similar % recover levels atm). Hopefully I've made the right decision?
What do you guys think?
