Am thinking of claiming my BCC later (not soon) is there any potential drawbacks?

My coins are in electrum and other cold storage.

I'm in no rush. I'm not doing a thing right now. When the dust settles (weeks, months), I'll split my coins and decide what to do. I want to be very careful not to get replay attacked, and also may as well wait until the Bitcoin Cash chain adjusts difficulty so we have normal block intervals again.

Same thought Smiley

You claim your full BCC from your bitcoins if that wallet provider supports BCC altcoin i have an bitcoin wallet provider but they've already announced that they're not going to support BCC altcoin i dont want to miss a giveaway of free money then im going to sell it. I think bittrex have already said they're going to support the implementation of hardfork therefore they might support BCC also. So you can just transfer your funds into that site and get BCC there, my bitcoins aren't that money so i guess i'll only get few bcc to sell.

these are the risks of waiting that i can think of:
1. price has a good chance of starting to go down.
2. there is also a small chance that BCC won't exist in 1 month
3. their replay protection will most probably work but minors may not all honor it and any transaction you make with your bitcoins may be replayed on BCC and you lose your BCC.

There is no drawback in claiming BCH at a later stage. It all depends on your view about BCH's price. If you think that a lot of people are going to dump BCH and the price will only move downwards, better to claim it now.

will it affect my bitcoins if i claim the bcc and try to send bitcoins then from my old aged wallet to a new one?

To get the maximum BCH for your BTC you can't send any bitcoin from your Electrum wallet.
