Who said there was going to be a new activity system? He said there could be some changes. I doubt the activity system will be changed from it's current form and there has been no talk of it.
if activity system changed or removed then we can see a lot of spammers to be a higher rank member because of their post counts
activity system is good to keep forum users safe from spam and scams

Sorry for the dumb questions but it's just to be sure;
when the new forum software will be ready, all the current accounts will be transferred to the new forum or we have to register again?
Activity will be resetted?

Thanks
Everything will transfer to the new forum. There of course could be some changes to stuff like the way activity and trust works - we'll probably have to wait for someone working on it or a staff member to respond for that one.

So when are you going to know how the new activity system works?
Also trust system has already been updated.

Sorry if its said before but, is there an ETA for this? Ilove this old style look forum, but i know we need to evolve.

It'll likely be here early next year.

According to theymos, the New Forum will come on February but it will take a little longer a it is built from scratch. I wonder 'how it looks?', might be a bit difficult when using for first time. Roll Eyes

Time doesn't matter is perfection that we need and considering the fact that theymos stayed that it will compete with the other form softwares, it might be buggy but it is still worth it

What about not so important information like report success? it seems that would be useless to port over & just taking up extra hours of work & space.

IMO, it is important. If we reported a lot of posts and we have accuracy rate of <60%, then we can be a staff if there is a need for one. Anyway, I think theymos has got helpers, so if he has, then it is better to built a fully ported one, it may take some time.

You wont have to register again. The entire forum will be transferred over. No user stats will be lost.
