Hi guys, if I open this topic wrong place I'am sorry I am new in this forum.

I have a computer that I have not used for a long time
detailed specs. are as follow;

  • Amd phenom 9550 processor
  • 4GB DDR2 Ram
  • amd r9 270 grap. card

Is this appropriate computer for mining ?

How many PCIe slots does the motherboard have?
If it has more than one, you might want to look into obtaining another card (and PSU+riser, if necessary). Using an old r9 270 to cover the power costs of that entire rig probably isn't going to leave you with much profit.

Right, You can't mine Bitcoin without ASICs these days, so this would belong in the Altcoins section, which encompass any coin that is not "Bitcoin".

And to answer your main question, Curacao GPUs do decent on XMR monero cryptonight, but dont expect wonders from one gpu, especially that one.

You could try GPU mining, I suppose your GPU could mine ethash.

Check whattomine.com for more details.
