I don't think a VIP status would be appropriate based on that recognition was made for donations which he isn't one.

Not sure if johoe could get the same treatment but I do agree he needs some sort of appreciation (he got trust already). I think as long as community members agree on it, or if theymos feels okay to do so, then that status will come sooner or later.
Ain't know what is the point of giving him a VIP status. He already earned the trust of the community and that would be enough.
However, if Theymos would give him the recognition and treatment, he deserves it and what we can only do is to be more than happy with that. VIP rank is not necessary to recognize one's good deeds. Respect is enough for him to be happy and feel appreciated.
But yes, some people who made this kind of deeds with very simple and small amount were actually appreciated and recognized, so he really deserved to be recognized as well.
