Amazing how the price rises consistently on cryptsy when they stop deposits for 5 days. Just goes to show you how a market can function when it's not being dusted with autosells constantly.

Precisely, which is why we wanna slow down the mass inflow of millions of cheap new Casino Coins every month by cutting the max cap and the subsidy.

Once the new code is updated we should see a nice upswing in the price which should have a lasting effect.
Great, this is a good step towards even better community..

if there were still a few people stuck on the old chain, wouldn't the difficulty drop to nothing as the majority stops mining? that would make it typical that in the short term the old chain would pass the new chain for a short time where this coin has a relatively small about of hash and a new difficulty re-target for the new chain? maybe some auto-switch pool on the old chain? Just guessing here, but probably why none of the exchanges are doing anything with coin, until this works itself out

diff is not calculated the same way in the new client. Over time, the two chains would diverge. One thing we were discussing before was the possibility of adding nagware to the client to harass and even introduce delays into a client which is not the current version. We could also add an offset to an old client's difficulty calculation. Effectively, this would disable them for mining when a new client comes out.

This will cause the new wallet to never say it's in sync :/

Last wallet update has only nodes to the new chain, so no problem with the sync
[/quote]

The source code was updated to only connect to new wallet nodes but I don't think the binaries for Windows were updated. It was added shortly after the binaries were released.

I think the main source of the hashrate on the old chain may be coming from this pool:

Have messaged the admin but no response Sad

Coinnext is on the wrong chain but should be updated soon. I'm tired of Crapsy's constant problems and will try to get some volume going on Coinnext.

Thanks for the replies. I had checked both blockchains first but the first was offline and the second was on a different block so it made me nervous.

Its interesting I now have 2 connections with nodes with old wallets and the old chain. Is there a way to block those connections? I still have 6 with new wallets so I'm assuming I'm ok but better to be safe than sorry.

Then I'm not the only one confused! Smiley

I have last block on the 486xxx chain and connections to some of the nodes on the example conf so if I'm on the wrong chain they are too. That is different than the Altexplorer chain which has a 489xxx block.

From what you said I'm reading this as the 489 chain is old/wrong and the 486 chain is correct. Which makes Altexplorer on the wrong chain.

LOL, yea...the new chain was ahead of the old for a while but that changed since the last time I checked. This will cause the new wallet to never say it's in sync :/

Any way to verify if you're on the right chain? One of the block explorers is offline and the other is on a different chain.

I have 8 connections to my wallet half of which are from the list in the OP example conf and 7 of 8 are on version 1.2. So I'm reasonably confident I'm on the right chain but no way to know for sure.

I believe the correct chain is around block 489883 and the old one is around 486843.

Edit... hold on...double checked...looks like the old is 489xxx and new is 486xxx. Somehow the old chain is longer than the new one again Sad

Casinocoin added to Bidcoind.com as a payment method to buy / sell goods and services with Casinocoin.

Generate buzz for Casinocoin by listing quality items for sale totaly free of charge and merchant mine MTC on the side,

www.bidcoind.com

Everyone is talking about merchant integration for their coin, saying that theirs will be the one,

well if you don't start to demonstrate merchant application for it, then who else will?
CPI - The Consumer Price Index for all Crypto Currencies, what will say more about a crypto currency when there is more quality stuff for sale in exchange.

The API for true trade volume based on actual goods and services. The real economic indicator for a crypto currency.
EXAMPLE:
"user wsxrfv made 1375 MTC at the current exchange rate of 0.17 USD per MTC just for listing an item for sale in exchange for Casinocoin."
Casper just listed an item for sale on Bidcoind.com, he is selling his old laptop in exchange for Casinocoin,
like that is not good enough he is mining 1 MTC block after block at the same rate as the Marinecoin network speed just for listing it.
if someone else does not list an item soon after him, Casper is going to be the richest man in the World.
Who's to stop Casper selling more items in exchange for Casinocoin
Merchant Mining, No hardware required, mineable for the next 1000 years just like the Marinecoin Network Mining.
PAYMENTS & MERCHANTS
pay Casinocoin direct to the seller no middle wallet. start small, gain more feedback comments and go bigger soon your reputation will speak for itself more coins for more positive feedbacks from buyers.

Win Win Win situation

Sell quality stuff for your coin and generate publicity for your favorite coin +1
Get more of the coins you like by selling your new or used items + 1
Get Marinecoins on the side by merchant mining them without extra effort +1

your accounts are credited 0.5 MTC as gift good for listing upto 5 items with basic settings.

make sure you enter a valid Marinecoin client wallet address during registration but not a mobile or web wallet,

no listings for illegal items,
no spam listings items with picture and detailed description ONLY
valid user registration, do not use fake names fake address your account will be suspended
this is as serious as Ebay
Lisitings of 14 days minimum or longer duration required to qualify for mining block rewards
No listings under crypto currencies category, exchanging coins is not a merchant activity.
You will get results within 180 blocks on the network about 6 hours on target network speed, delayed 180 blocks payouts gives time to delist unwanted or illegal listings and listers who spam the site just for getting MTC.

There is feedback area after each successful sale, seller and buyer can give each other feedbacks the more feedback you have the more coins you make by selling your stuff more easyly.

if more than 1 person lists an item during the same block interval they share the block reward of 1 MTC, how ever if more than 10 people list an item in order for you not to lose your listing fee of 0.1 MTC, the reward auto doubles to 0.2 for each seller,

list an item mine block after block until someone else lists an item,

you can sell your items for Casinocoin, you will still get merchant mined Marinecoins,

Mined coins auto cashout to your registered wallet when balance exceeds 5 MTC, but you can also cash out manually if you wish when your balance is below that.

goto www.marinecoin.org to download your MTC wallet to receive your Merchant Mining Block Rewards

then goto www.bidcoind.com register and list an item for sale in Casinocoin and wait for the MTC rewards to flood in to your wallet,

Enjoy

Seems to me there isn't any exchange that I can send CSC to.  I am done mining until this is solved.

Did you guys notice our resident whale removed his entire buy order at 320 Satoshi?

So I think his primary objective was to put a floor under CSC which he did accomplish while also accumulating [by my rough calculations]  ~1.5 million CasinoCoins.

It's good to know somebody [with deep pockets] cares that much about keeping CSC's price up beyond a certain level.

I think he only accumulated maybe 0.8 BTC worth from the numbers that I saw, but I could be wrong.

My math could be way off.  I didn't keep track daily where he could have changed up his order or moved it around.

Either way, any 300 Satoshi coin is fortunate to have a Bitcoin whale putting in a price floor like that.

Question for the devs here:

Have you guys ever hit up the CEOs of companies like ZYNGA and other online gaming and gambling sites, like FullTilt Poker?

They may not go for it but it's well worth a try.  I've hit up every billionaire I could find to get them onboard with iXcoin and I eventually got CEX to join.  That's one of the biggest players in "Cryptlantis".

If you guys have not and you're not comfortable doing something like that then let me know, I'm shameless in approaching those types of people if I truly believe in the product and I really do believe CasinoCoin has all the necessary components to be a leading Crypto Currency in the booming Online gaming and gambling industry.

I firmly believe that niche coins, like CasinoCoin, should really gain traction in the coming 1-2 years and right now most big players know very little about the potential of owning your own gaming currency so this is why banging on Billionaire doors could prove fruitful.

I know the strategy guys from Gree. From what I'm hearing, both Zynga and Gree are massively cutting staff and offices. Those two are getting killed right now.

By all means, start hitting places. It might also be good to hit poker rooms and online casinos as well with a few more emails.
