Can't wait to watch all the football events as the competitions unfolds by April.
Isn't the competition supposed to be in July? Except it's other sports because the football season won't conclude until May for the premier league at least. I imagine other leagues will be around the same time or few weeks forward.

Yes... I think our companion is a little outdated as the opening date of the Olympic games is scheduled for July 26, 2024 and the closing date is scheduled for August 11.

I think the opening event of the Olympic games is more exciting than any competition, at least I never miss the opening, but I've already missed several games in my country in a sport that I really enjoy watching, like football.

This year, I'm looking forward to seeing what will happen with breaking as one of the new sports.
For me, this is more similar to dancing, but his competitive spirit and the movements he requires with his body is almost like comparing this competition to skateboarding.

The Olympic games for me are the best, that is why many athletes will always prepare in silence, with the help of themselves, because I have seen that there are athletes who do not have the support of their governments, yet they do it for the love of their country is something very cool indeed.

The Olympics is not my favorite competition but I enjoy watching it whenever I have the opportunity to do so. Despite not making the list of my top 3 competitions especially in the football category, the Olympics still hold a special place in my heart given the fact that it's one of the most contested competition I have watched and it's not just the football category but others. I used to wake up by early hours of the day (2-5am) to watch Olympics games. Good memories.

Lol I think we have all done that, and the truth is that it made us feel very happy, I think many of us have experienced that, I remember that one of the things that limited me was when I was at university and I didn't hate staying up late, apart from I didn't have a cable service that transmitted the games well, and the internet was less than 1MB, that was ago that stressed me a lot, now I think things will be better, the Paris schedule is not very difficult for me.

The last time I stayed up late to watch the games was for the World Cup in Japan and Korea, which were schedules that for me started at 2am, 3am, that was really difficult for me, however those early mornings were the best.

As you say, for me things in the Olympic games are very good, I like many sports, but there is no denying that the USA and China are very good world powers.

Excited to see athletes from my country to compete. our country have strong contenders on Gymnastics and boxing, can't wait to see them compete and hopefully win gold for their country.b

I wonder if Bitcoin or cryptocurrencies would be allowed to be used during and within the Olympics facilities because it would be brilliant and a show to the world that cryptocurrency is the future of money.
Haven't heard anything about it but it'll be a big thing for crypto /Bitcoin and it'll be interesting to see if 2024 Olympics incorporate crypto/Bitcoin into the event

Certainly due to the current bull run there will be some tokens and brokers sponsoring something during the Olympic games, now I find BTC difficult, as it doesn't have an owner, if there were for example a Michael Saylor sponsoring it, or even a Black Rock it would be everything much more interesting... Just imagine... the Bitcoin logo at some event, sponsored by Michael Saylor, would be perfect for us.

It's always exciting to look forward to the performances of athletes from around the world, whether it's in basketball, track and field, or any of the other numerous disciplines. And I'm curious to see how these top-tier talents will compete against each other. I'm particularly interested in track and field, something to watch out for—the showdown on the track with athletes pushing the limits of human performance. I remember back during our school days, we were always updated on the happenings of the Olympics because of our sports subject. I'll be keeping an eye on predictions of who might medal. It’s always enriching to learn more about these global events that bring us all together in the spirit of friendly competition and mutual respect.

There were a few years in the past when I really liked the Olympic games. I spent hours watching the games, from the 100 to 200 meter races, swimming and other sports. but even though I liked football, I couldn't understand why the Olympic games had to have football and basketball. What was the relevance of this, because football is a sport that is being played in all countries and has many events every year, and basketball is the same thing. So why do the Olympic games also have to include football and basketball?

These two sports should not be in the Olympic games because they already have many events every year, and unlike the 100 meter and 200 meter races, which in many countries have not been practiced frequently and are even forgotten and have had few events per year, so in the Olympic games there is a great chance for these and those sports that do not have much visibility and competition in many countries and there have not been many events every year to have visibility in the Olympic games. but unfortunately the organizers of the Olympic games are thinking about their pockets, they keep adding many very popular sports to gain an audience so they will make money

I do understand that organizing the Olympic Games is an expense of a lot of money that the government that organizes it spends. but an image should be created of a competition in which there are sports that are less visible every year so that people are more focused on wanting to watch what these sports are like and who are those who practice them. For example, I watched athletics because I was very curious about the guys who ran a lot, so as I didn't follow the 100 or 200 meter races all year long, I was watching the Olympic games for my chance to find out how that sport was going. so with fewer sports the focus becomes much greater on those few sports

but when they're adding football, they're adding basketball and other sports, so people's entire focus will be on football, which is already a sport that gets a lot of attention, their entire focus will go on basketball, which is already a sport that gets a lot of attention, and no one will care about swimming, running 100 meters, throwing dice. In my opinion, the Olympic games are losing their luster, they are or will already lose the shine they had many years ago. I personally stopped watching

It's sad to not see my country male team is not among the countries going to play in Olympics basketball. I would sure hope the female team do us proud and well, Paris is a beautiful place of which I dream to live in someday.
I would try to stay glued to athletics, swimming and football because that's what I normally enjoy more during the tournament.

I'm excited to be experiencing another Olympic tournament. It's been almost a decade since I followed the activities of an Olympic tournament. In recent times, I have followed up with happenings at the world cup (almost watched all the matches from the group stage) and most recently, the Afcon tournament that ended last month. However, I don't think I would watch any other sport apart from football. I might try to watch some other sport anywhere since there are varieties to pick from.

I can understand that there are indeed a lot of football fans in this forum alone. A lot of bettors as well. But most of the time, I would seriously bet when there are few teams left, not the the early betting lines. The chances are quite low as there are so many teams involved. But of course, it is fun watching those games and you will find out that you will be rooting for some particular teams other than your favourite team.

You are very right, in fact I was very bored fútbol in South America, only Paragay and Argentina will go, not even Brazil passed, the one that was very close to passing was Brazil and Venezuela, so for me these Olympic games with these countries are not something that I really like, Of course, this is something that is always seen and noticed, but there are the other disciplines where, by the way, I see the USA and China as very favorites again, for those countries have become very strong in all disciplines, including soccer, etc. Since France is the host, I imagine that all the French teams will have their high-performance athletes at full strength.

The Olympic games for me are the best, that is why many athletes will always prepare in silence, with the help of themselves, because I have seen that there are athletes who do not have the support of their governments, yet they do it for the love of their country is something very cool indeed.

Generally, in every sports platforms football fans dominates the numbers as it's the sport's with the highest number of fans world wide. Betting on this tournament for me is going to be right from the beginning to the end as I believe it doesn't matter at what position or time of the tournament you come in with the bets if you are going to make a win from the games then nothing will stop you, perhaps that's your choice and I think think am cool with that for you.

I just do believe that the start of any competition or tournament is where bettors can have a better chance of winning games as those bookmakers just like the gamblers are only speculative of each teams ability to perform tremendously in the first games based on historical performance so it doesn't put them ahead of the gambler in terms of how they would want to twist the odds to deceive and confuse the gambler into falling into wrong predictions by looking at the odds given.

I don't know if you get what I mean. Grin

If I have to add my few sats though, might be better to add "Summer" to the title to distinguished it from the "Winter" Olympic games.

As for basketball as this is the sports that I followed, the USA will send their best team again, could be another Redeem team to get back their old glory in Basketball. So stars like Lebron James and Steph Curry. Not only that but the coaching staff as well will be lead by Steve Kerr, Tyronn Lue (L.A. Clippers) and Erik Spoelstra (Miami Heat).

Also might be good to see who will dominate the track and field specially the 100 meters with both US men and women and then their rivalry with the Jamaicans again.
Well, the "Winter" Olympics is not in another 2 years from now. It shouldn't be too hard to distinguish which one is happening right now, looking at the sports that are being played during the games. Usually, the Olympics means the Summer Olympics, and when there's the Winter Olympics, it is denoted as the "Winter Olympics".  Some facts on how the Winter Olympics are below:
Initially was "Nordic Games" organised by General Viktor Gustaf Balck in Stockholm, Sweden, in 1901 and were held again in 1903 and 1905 and then every fourth year thereafter until 1926. Balck was a close friend of the Olympic Games founder and he suggested to add a few Nordic Games into the Olympics, specifically figure skating. The idea was rejected initially but later was turned into the Winter Olympics which was first conducted in 1924,  held in Chamonix, France.

Ah yes, I got your point. I do know for a fact that the risk is significantly greater at the beginning of any tournament simply because there is not much incentive to always win as long as you make the cut if being in top two teams of the group. As tournament progresses, boys gets separated from men. Even if that's the case, we just can't ignore the fact there are still opportunities at the start of the tournament as well.

And oh, as long as my favorite teams are still in the tournament, I'm always going to back them  Roll Eyes

It's as though there are new features that have been added into this very Olympic tournament as there are a few competition's
on the list I have not seen before or is it that am the one that have not been paying attention.

As a lover of football that's where my priority will dominantly based in then followed by table tennis and box but that doesn't mean others are not that interesting anyway.

The men's teams in the group stage the team's  am rooting for to qualify to next round are France, USA, Argentina, Ukraine, Sprain,  Egypt,  Paraguay and Mali. For the women's football, my favourite team is team USA and am sure they will be making it out of the group stage without huddles as they seem to be the best team in that group B followed by team France in group A who I believe are going to prove a toughest opponent to USA women in the course of the tournament.
