Ignore all users that use their full name , with middle name included as their username.

Pondering changing my username to Ryland R. Taylor-Almanza
Decision made. How do I change my username? I've done it before, but I can't remember how.

It's a market. That means that there is plenty of trading going on, and an offtopic forum for you to get your postcout up and appear more trusted.

That's some sound advice there.

Haha politics bother me, anyhow.

Off-topic sounds a bit too risky(que).

Anywho...

It's a shame to hear there's some bad apples on the loose.  Or batshit-insane ones.   Cheesy

Try to ignore the off-topic or politics sections. People can start flame wars there that have nothing to do with Bitcoin, because off-topic is in the name. Mods will generally shut down off topic crap posted in main groups, that is what "report to moderator" is for.

Ironically, my last post was about getting involved in the marketplace section.  I've been doing some skimming of this forum and it seems there's a lot of childish activity going on...

What kind of place is this, anyway?

It's a wild west kind of place, with a wide variety of opinions and political persuasions.
Attempting to judge the general characteristics of the bitcoin community by the noise here is probably a mistake.
