i'm not sure if i could bring myself to buy a new car.. that shit depreciates just way too fast.
I think the point of the thread is if someone was holding your wallet hostage until you picked a car for yourself, to be paid out of your wallet, which car would you pick? (assuming the criminal was untouchable)

Well I've invested a massive 80 dollars in BTC at 790, so if it comes through I'll probably just fix mine or add go faster stripes.

If I had to choose a dream car, probably a Dodge Viper. I hear they're shit to drive and quite ugly by todays standards but I've always liked them for some reason.

Um, you should be Hodling, not selling at 10K.  It will go much higher than that.  Don't be greedy.

i think you may be the one being greedy. when/if it hits $10,000, no one knows where it will go.

Something in F series. Not sure if F-16 or F-14. Tomcat. Probably not 22. Too expensive.

to the guy with the 6.3L car that doesnt want to disclose much info.. come on.. 6.3 ? that must be a Mercedes AMG might be the SL or a C class 6.3

Actually, the cars you mentioned are 6.2L but badged as 6.3. I happen to have the S-class but I oversized the pistons and now have the full 6.3L

The car with the least (or no) tyranny burdening it. Haven't figured out which vehicle that is, yet.

as someone else said it depends on the time frame but if its in the next 5 years i'd just keep my car. It's a 2011 TDI vw golf... love it!

okay the newer porsches look cool......

I wouldn't buy a tesla because I think battery technology is too shitty. I almost didn't even buy a smart phone because of how bad battery technology is

if buying an electric car, you'd need to keep it for a long time for it to be worthwhile financially.

I'll be getting a Toyota Corolla, maybe a new one but probably one 1-3 years old with low KM. It doesn't draw attention and I prefer to remain low key.

Why would you want an expensive sports car that draws attention, costs a lot of money to maintain and insure and will lose value as the years go by. It's a massive waste of money, don't piss your bitcoins away on useless shit that you don't really need. If you must have one, lease one until the novelty wears off.

Of course, I say this as a man in his 30's. If I was in my late teens or early 20's, I would be going straight to the Porsche dealership.

The only big ticket items I would purchase is property.

I agree to a certain point.

If it does make it big, I am still going with a Tesla or some form of electric car. Despite it being expensive, it pays back for itself.

The main purchase I will make is to convert all of my family's vehicles into electric and our housing into solar. Never pay electricity or gas again.
From there, your children or grandchildren will thank you when they inherit a paid off car or house with no upkeep other than property taxes.
Thus, in this model, the rich get richer. Generate wealth is the key objective. I do see many other people just pissing it away on a Lamborghini or exotic car that has 20 MPG and high upkeep.

Just my .02

I don't have a craze for luxury / sports cars. If BTC reaches $10K, then I'll buy a Toyota Corolla. I'd have bought a Tesla S, but it is too expensive for me at this point of time.

Same here. I'm not a big car guy at all but if I had to get a new car with "new riches", it'd be a Tesla.

Gotta be responsible and have a small carbon footprint!

thirded.. not huge on cars, but if i got a luxury one, it'd be a tesla.. i'm not sure how effective it is in reducing the carbon footprint, but either way it's most likely going to lead to less dependence on foreign oil.

hi guys thanks for the replies

I chose tesla because i commute to work daily for the last 4 years which is 70 miles total round trip or 35 miles one way.

i spend $300 just in gas alone per month.

You're lucky.

I currently pay over $600 a month for gas!

ouch whats your commute and ride? gas mileage?

i use a jetta and nets me 30mpg

I'd rather not disclose to much info, but my current car is a 6.3L and I drive a lot.

I would buy a nice bicycle. Much cheaper to run and good exercise. With the money saved I'd go travelling.
I also not interested in cars love to have a good bicycle which give me more comfortable and exercise for long life Grin

Well, until someone nicks it  Grin.

This question really depends on when BTC hits 10K. If it was tomorrow then I would buy 2 cars, a Bugatti Veyron and a Mercedes S65 AMG.

If its 10 years from now (which it wont be) then who knows as I have no clue what car will tickle my fancy so far down the road.

What car?

I'm thinking Tesla S

Maybe because I'm a finance guy, but I like to buy assets that will appreciate over time.  A car will depreciate as soon as you drive it off the lot.  Now, the Tesla S actually may depreciate less than most simple because of the high demand.  But I don't think I can ever bring myself to buying a car worth that much.

I'd rather spend my BTC "fortune" on traveling the world in style.  Maybe myself a Piper and go island hopping. Cheesy
