Is there any better solution?

I am looking for a an easy-to-use browser extension for Chrome and Firefox which scans websites for BTC-addresses and makes them clickable. After a click one should be able to set an amount and the payment should be send.

Best would be if it supports the Blockchain.info wallet.

Ups - sorry about the errors - I have just upgraded the server backend software, and I have not been through a rigid testing of everything following that - thanks for reporting.

As for the ceptacle.com/cash - I have kept that on on invitation only until I got things cleared with the creditcards - so that is why...

The wallet  is in the localstore of the browser (similar to blockchain.info) this way it is locked to a spicific domain (microbits.com) and hence it cannot be tampered with by an evil mercant. Microbits does not use payment links, but a payment protocol, similar to the one currently being implemented for bitcoin. This means that you send the signed transaction to the merchant leaving it to him to broadcast it. Hence a merchant can use a single btc address and not worry about having a wallet online on his webserver.

Do you have a specific use for such setup right away ?

Thanks for the reply.

Unfortunately I get a mix of messages like "Warning: array_key_exists() expects parameter 2 to be array, null given in /var/www/post/include/template.inc on line 17 Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /var/www/post/include/template.inc on line 25" and "You are not allowed to use this service!" (from http://ceptacle.com/cash). Still, it seems like the overall idea is somewhat similar to what I had in though, although I'm not sure how the user would be able to administrate his wallet. Wouldn't it be possible for malicious merchants to steal coins (more than what you are willing to send to them) by tweaking the code on their site?

I was thinking more in the direction of a browser extension that connects to some online wallet, like blockchain, through their API (eg. https://blockchain.info/api/blockchain_wallet_api). When properly configured, it would pop-up when users click payment links (bitcoin:[address]), ask for confirmation (and amount, if not encoded in the link). All payments would be denominated in bitcoins to avoid exchange rate and bank issues altogether. Since the user retains full control of his wallet (assuming you trust the online wallet provider), only the (small) amount he agree to send to the merchant could be stolen.

Yes, such thing does exist Smiley https://microbits.com - you can test it out trough the demo news paper ceptacle.com/post and ask me questions if you find some issues.

I created microbits.com last year, and have had some issues in finding a) the right exchange rate policy and b) a reasonable way to inject bitcoins into the system - I have a credit card setup running, but credit card -> bitcoins are a bit of a challenge.

Any particular project you have in mind for your request ?

Sincerely,

Michael

I'm looking for a browser extension that would enable the browser to handle bitcoin payment links (eg. "bitcoin:1xxxxx?message=Pay%20bitcoins") directly, by sending money from an online wallet. For small transactions this might give a super-easy user experience, something like one-click payment and no installation of software or wallet required. Does such a thing exist?
