If there is an afterlife, I hope he is driving a V-12 American La France at 100 mph all day long with his Dalmation by his side!

Thank you for your kind post.

Been gone for a while due to health issues but everything is OK now.

Just kind of took a break from the madness of crypto!

Glad to hear your health issues are better.

I'd like to think my Dads up there somewhere bombing around in his beat down old Chevy with his German Shepard in the back, LOL! Likely listening to anything from The Beatles to Metallica.

Good thoughts and thank you for your kind post!

I was out on errands and did not get the call to come to the house until it was too late.

That's OK, I guess; maybe this is the way it was supposed to be.

He was a retired Kansas City, Kansas Firefighter.

He was diagnosed with terminal cancer six years ago and given a month to live.

So sorry for you loss, my condolences to you and everyone that knew him. Strong man to be able to fight off cancer for that long.

May he RIP

My condolences, was it lung cancer?

No, it was a kind of cancer that attaches itself to the aorta and then spreads.

He fought a good long fight and as far as I am concerned, he won because he even outlived one of his doctors.

Sorry to hear dutch! My sincerest condolences. My friends dad had terminal brain cancer and they gave him 6 months and he gave em 11 years back!

Life is so short,  its mind boggling how we all loose site of that sometimes. People are precious and irreplaceable and what they leave with us will last a lifetime .. I hope the best of times and the best moments stand out and shine as you remember your friend. May he rest in peace.

Funny how tough some of those sons of bitches can be!

They have to be a son of a bitch to be that tough!

Thanks for your kind reply!

Interesting... another firefighter died this weekend from Edmonton, AB while kayaking in Jasper, AB.

The difference is, this firefighter was a bully to me in high school.  He used to love making a fool out of me in front of other students.

In this case, the firefighter's dirge does not count - the guy was an asshole.

Peace to yours.

That story remind me of an old story when people used to be more candid when making gravestones. One particular teacher had on his Gravestone:

"The community is blessed to have let this teacher go".

Will Bitcoin Rise Again to $60,000?
My condolences.

Atleast he lived for a much longer time than what those douchy doctors gave him in the beginning.

Hey now, I'm a physician and I understand that we're not the ones who give people time.  We can only make estimates.

I'm sure LostDutchman would like to keep this thread solemn, positive and supportive, no negative thoughts please.

I wasn't trying to put any negativity into the thread, sorry if it came off as that. I just meant that it turned out better than expected. Smiley

Hi, the LostDutchman.

My condolences as well.

I know how hard this is, I've lost many persons in my life during my life, and it's never easy.

Sometimes you think about what you should've done, where you should've been and so on, but there's lot of randomness in this world, and everything cannot always be perfect.

Remember your friend for the times you had together before, and also remember that firefighters do a very important job, often putting their own life on the line to help others.
I sat through the entire 5 min The Royal Scots Dragoon Guards - Amazing Grace.

I don't know you, I didn't know your friend, but I wanted to pay the respect.

I hope that you have close ones that will help you with the grief, and all the best for your continued life.

Cheers from a fellow human.

Thank you.

God bless your friend's soul. More and more people are dying from cancers. There is something in our air in our food and if scientists won't find cure we will have grim future ahead.

Thank you and your reply means to me more than you can ever know.

We will find those things, I am sure.
