It is a good reminder to the bitcoin community users to remind them to always check the bitcoin address before they hit the send button on their bitcoin wallets, as bitcoin price rise over the moon, hackers are more active trying to target more bitcoin users in order to gain access to their bitcoins in many different ways.

Yeah but as far as I understand it, the hacker changed the ''send address'' on the website itself so even if you checked the address it would be the right address because the hacker already changed the address when you copied it.

Big fan of P2PS, the future of altcoins.
Hi guys! I have realized that I got robbed and scammed by professional programmers. First of all, I'm not the only person got scammed with this method. The scammers wallet address is 17bH1SYLoBdGsBaDedPR2EE3JUt8oRS7qd . This address and the issue is currently being discussed in reddit:

https://www.reddit.com/r/BitcoinCA/comments/7keu2l/scammed_watch_your_google_chrome_extensions/

Firstly, I have paid 0.0585 btc for purchasing hash power from hashflare on December 13, but it didn't reflect to my account, then I've opened a ticket and started to wait an answer. In that period I have decided to purchase monero hashpower from genesis mining, and paid 0.043031 on december 16. Because I'm a beginner on bitcoin community, I couldn't understand that the hackers replace their wallets qr code on my payment page on both hashflare and genesis mining website. and today I realized that I had paid my payments to exact same addresses. Than I have searched this address (17bH1SYLoBdGsBaDedPR2EE3JUt8oRS7qd) and found a topic on reddit. They are currently continuing to scam people. I don't know what do I do? I was using ublock adblocker, reddit users saying that the cause is adblocker. I want from you to speak out this kind of scamming. I have lost 1750$ and I'm so upset. My scammed transaction id's are:

https://blockchain.info/tr/tx/6d36c986298332973f2a42f524d286e07000fb3bc98949de28b7b5f92e092053

https://blockchain.info/tx/45040b8ad51b86e8cf5d79018c17b6dd9c1924d2cb2f36dab99ed4dc11586a13

They even currently scamming people, recently someone paid 4600$ Sad Please help and speak out.

1750$ was %60 of my investment. But I will never stop to promote this decentralised new world! Never give up.

If there is someone want to console me and compensate my damage even though a little bit, here is my ethereum wallet: 0x63037338dc8ffe7cbec377d7daa679ad5a6fdc8f

I will update my wallet balance when I got money for transparency.

So 1.6 BTC scammed just on that address, which i don't think that is even close to the full amount that the scammer has scammed through this method since he could have easily used multiple addresses to receive funds to.

This is by no means an old method of scamming people, in fact it has been around at least since last year, that's when i first saw this kind of scam emerge. But to get it via a chrome extension seems new to me.

Always check at least the first four letters of your address to confirm that it is the correct address - if it isn't then install antivirus/uninstall some extensions to see which one is the culprit.

There is also someone who has posted similar situation above and since I follow the thread I know that they are trying hard to overcome hurdles related to the malware that took away their bitcoins. They are being told that they are giving lame excuses.

Since you are a senior member maybe you could help them with your opinion on the signature campaign thread of P2Ps posted in their message above.

FULLY FUNCTIONAL PRODUCT SOLVING A GLOBAL PROBLEM
did you copy and paste the BTC address you intended to send to? did check of the address is correct after you pasted?
there is malware that recognizes if a BTC-address is copied and replace it with an other.

Hello and greetings dear Legendary vlom,

Thank God I found a legendary member having posted this sensible opinion.

We lost our bitcoin to a copy paste trojan and have since replaced our computers in addition to double checking every hash. I tried to explain this fact on our signature campaign thread and also provided the address from which the btc was sent but went to a rogue address through the copy paste method. However, there are some who think that this is a lame excuse. Neither have I asked for any donations nor a loan; just some understanding which I have failed to get.

Is there any way you could possibly spare a few minutes of your precious time to kindly visit the following link and please post your opinion of what we have gone through. Coming from one of the biggest designation members from this forum could possibly be the only effective way to explain what I went through and still experiencing having lost my btc that should have been used for our campaigns here. Please.

Thanking you in advance,
Respectfully yours.
