It’s about time bitcoin is included in academia, I expected it would start from high school since the concept of bitcoin is very simple. Colleges can do better than just teaching bitcoin, it seems like a very short course imo unless they plan on covering the entire ecosystem. I just hope the professors can refrain from being their usual boring self and pass the information to the students in an interesting way .

IMO no need of entire course of Bitcoin for school, it will be good to add information about it in a course of economy and may be, if there is some such separate course, in course where digital security is. There's not so much to learn what mostly everyone should know about bitcoin. But anyway learning about new decentralized alternative in economy will be definitely useful for pupils.

I absolutely love seeing this, thanks for sharing.  I know that if I were currently in college ( sadly those days are long behind me) I would be very interested in taking this course.  I wonder how deep in to bitcoin this course will go, as if it's more so an introduction to the whole idea of cryptocurrency and how the blockchain works for a macro level, or if they will really dig in to the cryptography of bitcoin and how it all works on a technical level.

More institutions have added different courses on blockchain technology. Very few have added education about bitcoin, while studying about finance it is a must to know the advancement in the financial technology. This curriculum will fulfil the students to have atleast some knowledge about bitcoin. This gonna play a key part in the mass adoption of bitcoin and real time usage. Earlier it is El Salvador to have the book 'My First Bitcoin', which is focused on teaching the population about bitcoin. Similar way of spreading need to happen all around.

That's good to see.

It's not that really hard to teach students about bitcoin because they can just have it like a special class or just an additional subject that covers the entirety of blockchain space and crypto.

Most academical syllabus were outdated if it's just the traditional education that they're going to teach. This is the type of news and adoption that we want to see coming from the educators instead of spreading hate and negativity about such opinions, they're embracing and teaching it to the younger ones.

With this, we would hopefully see more institutions of learning take a clue and do same.
As Web3 is becoming more of a regular kind of topic these days and also due to its futuristic prospects, it is going to be more accessible to those with knowledge and use of Bitcoin.
The youths and children should be the focus of any nation who intends to explore Web3 in the nearest future. Teaching the topic of Bitcoin to these young lads and the opportunities inherent, is an investment in the nearest future.

Very commendable step in my opinion. We need the youth to eb aware about both the benefits and limitations of crypto. This will encourage crypto adoption on a large scale all over the world. We should also try to educate people nearby about crypto. If you do not have access to students, you can educate your relatives and friends. Then only this information will spread fast and we will have global use case and adoption for bitcoin.

That's very good news to see more and more colleges and schools are started to teach bitcoin to the students especially when you think all these students are young people and they create our future so that's very important for them to know about this technology to help themself by gaining this knowledge and then they can even help other people and teach them about bitcoin.
Maybe right now the most important thing to stop other colleges from doing that is their government.

bitcoin is increasingly feeling its true glory, maybe ten years or five years in the future, if there are lots of people who continue to educate, there will definitely be an increase in bitcoin, in terms of enthusiasts.
hopefully there will be more and more people who are aware of the stability of bitcoin, if everyone is aware of it, there will definitely be a reduction in poverty.
and hopefully in a country whose governance
reject bitcoin, they can understand and understand bitcoin and can legalize bitcoin.

This us why the US will remain the world power for long, when they see new opportunities, they embrace it. It is really lack of literacy knowledge that is affecting the adoption of bitcoin and if citizens have this knowledge, then bitcoin will rule the world and US is making a fast move to make sure that it's citizens key into it.

Unlike some countries that are adamant to changes and want to continue in their old fashion life style by criticism on bitcoin and put a ban on bitcoin in their country. As long as US is OK with bitcoin adoption, then I will say the world is OK with bitcoin too. My reason is that at the long run US will achieve great from bitcoin before this ignoramus will now realize their mistake of not adopting bitcoin earlier.

So this is more about coding (as Korok Ray is going to teach them "Programming Bitcoin"), than trading and "how to get rich, fast and easy". Glad to hear that, as people nowadays dont understand the idea of cryptocurrency, but all they see are dollar signs in eyes like Scrooge McDuck has. Also glad that bitcoin will be taught to college students, but not to schools kids that care only about video games and fun. Time and effort wont be wasted.

Bitcoin into the curriculum is a must for now, only the education can carry it to the next generation in a perfect way than just happening through practice. Over years the development and spreading have been happening in a better way than the past days. Our forum members are doing the best in spreading the word about bitcoin. Atleast five threads have been found on forum members spreading the word of bitcoin to the people surrounding them. In particular some even have started accepting bitcoin into their businesses.

If done right it could help to really improve bitcoin literacy among the younger generation and also improve their financial knowledge. My only reservation is if the teaching would be done in the proper manner, showing the decentralization, anonymity and control the holder has and not as a way to promote centralized platforms or spread disinformation or propaganda.
This reservation stems from the fact that the school is a centralized system and the curriculum would need to be approved by the government.

Heard about that the other day. Very bullish news for bitcoin.
Not bullish in the short term, but slow adoption through education would be great for the future.

From the article, you are right, but they are two parties, and the both will affect the cryptocurrency market in future. One is the bitcoin development class and the other the bitcoin regulation class.

Quote
Adjunct Professor Thomas Hook of the University of Boston Law School recently told Cointelegraph that the law school is now offering a “crypto regulation” course for students

These law students will be built to understand why and how to regulate the bitcoin market, which may not be a good suggestion for the cryptocurrency developer's class. As they'll be a coalition of the law students in future to try regulating the bitcoin market and they may achieve that, as they started early to study it alongside the crypto development students who may be sharing some information to them, how such things can be made possible.  However, it's a welcomed development and new ideas can be harvested from the students reactions in class.

What young people are taught "forcibly" in educational institutions, as a rule, is not interesting to them and only repels them from studying these topics. Most of them. I am not in favor of thinking that there is a very great need for the study of bitcoin in colleges. For example, I consider cryptography in specialized educational institutions a necessity, but specifically bitcoin - this is not necessary. For the most part, if desired, any young person and not only can get this information on this forum. This is unlikely to affect mass adoption in any way, because it will require the introduction of disciplines related to bitcoin in all schools of the world. Then it will have the desired effect, but as I assume, not a single ministry of education will take this step. Because these ministries are controlled by the states, and those are against btc. Therefore, they have nothing to inform the younger generations about BTC.

Nevertheless it is how humanity shares its knowledge with new generations, through education. It will hardly come in someones mind that better not to teach a surgeon and someone can become one by self educating. Bitcoin based economy will be different than fiat based so understanding that difference is one of important things for future economists why they should learn about bitcoin in universities. Possible problems with new computing should be solved in bitcoin core in advance so some future programmers should learn about bitcoin to be ready to solve the problems we can't even name nowadays. And there are much more things for which education of bitcoin in universities is a really good idea.

It's good news in a way but what got me is the dedication and tenacity of Korok Ray. Dedicating your time to ensuring that a school of young minds also get the opportunity to learn a thing or two about the Bitcoin protocol is something to be commended.
I feel that with such doggedness, and if all goes well, it could help set the kids on a path to financial independence and boost their literacy. And it seems that Bitcoin has experienced a slow rate of acceptance in some parts of the world due to a lack of quality crypto literacy.

Always good to hear about Bitcoin entering curriculum, doesn't matter the school or type of education. This one does appear to actually be an entire module on programming Bitcoin though (building library from scratch) so I see it as a breath of fresh air -- not that I don't think any of the other Bitcoin education focusing on financial aspects are bad. Be nice to get a steady stream of new nodes from grads like these.

There are some universities and some other schools that are studying courses that are related to bitcoin, crypto and blockchain by now, having a college in United States to be studying about bitcoin is a very good thing, but it is not about what can make the market to be bullish, but it indicates how the adoption continues.
Of course, it's not about how to make the market bullish but it's about how most students become knowledgeable both technically and about other things in general. They teach the technology rather than the value of the assets being learned, so we have to separate the two so as not to mix the two up without understanding what their purpose is.

Some other universities also study it based on source in OP:

Other universities now offering cryptocurrency courses include Harvard University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Oxford University, National University of Singapore, Cornell University, and University of California Berkeley.

I think the news is bullish in an indirect way. More bitcoin education is a positive thing, helping to dispel all the myths and FUD that is ever present and promoting understanding.
