^ Because of this pandemic people tend to play online gambling instead of going to physical casinos where they can be prone to the virus and get infected. The government probably may regulate or legalize online casinos in their countries for this can be another source of fund especially nowadays where they need the funds most. After the crisis, people may go back and play on physical casinos but some may stay and keep playing on mobile sports betting or online casinos because of the convenience so it will be better if the government would legalize online casinos so that everyone may still play gambling freely without the need of going out.
Nevertheless, speaking of China's gambling treatment probably they will use their own crypto because they banned Bitcoin.

Well, from what I read mostly online gambling and mobile sports betting are legal in many countries of the members here. It is good enough, moreover, when many more offline casinos and sports betting industry widen their reach to the online world, this will be even more interesting. And what's more, it will minimize some expenses. Let's wait for the reaction of big casinos and sports betting after Covid-19 is over.

I read some articles that China wants the Philippines to start prohibiting online betting or gambling, I just don't know the reason why.

Yes, I also read those articles. Some of them are:
https://www.rappler.com/nation/238192-china-wants-philippines-ban-online-gambling
https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2019-08-21/china-wants-philippines-online-gaming-ban-after-halting-permits
https://lcb.org/news/china-pushes-for-online-gambling-ban-in-philippines

This news was about August 2019. They said that the aim of this was for preventing illegal outflows of any funds and also unauthorized recruitment of the employees.
However, we do not know what happens next further. Today, China itself widen their sector in Blockchain technology that may also influence on how their response on the online gambling sites again. Probably it will be different from the previous one.

Probably e-sports are going to be the future of entertainments which will obviously lead to have the boom of online casino/betting platforms. But, I am not thinking it will be possible to have gambling as a legal thing when theaters and amusement parks are not safe to operate. Governments may not think like gambling cannot be the right replacement for theaters, amusement parks and any other crowd gathering based entertainments.

In my country gambling is prohibited due to traditional values. So, I guess my government may not think about legalizing online gambling just for the reason of people are not having sufficient entertainment sources. But, I expect online gambling may enter into big growth in coming months in country as well due to easier and high speed internet availability.

Online gambling is legal in our country as long as they run on the right process and received their license to operate. Right now, all I can say is, it is possible that more countries will legalize online gambling because it is really in demand in this kind of situation. When this happens, more online gambling websites will probably open to the public.

During this pandemic where countries and cities are on lockdown online gambling has a great profit for people who can't go to the casino houses to play and because of that gamblers started to adapt this for their safety and health regardless if it is legal to their country or not.

The reason why the government legalized gambling or casino houses is that it is part of our culture that helps us lessen our stresses and government earn from these casinos through collecting tax. As of now where gamblers are into the online casino because of the pandemic and government started to lose funds as they use it to support their citizen during lockdown then when the time comes and they need to have funds again they might consider legalizing online casinos as well so they might get tax from these type of business. It will be better to legalize these online casinos not only for the government but also for us who want to play gambling safely, IMO.
Gambling business really brings additional funds to the government, there's no question about the help that this business are providing in terms of taxes, instead of prohibiting people and let them play illegally the government choose to legalized and gain benefits from this business.

After this pandemic crisis more and more places from the world will consider this especially those who are in need, the more access to earned additional funds the better to restart the economy.

i got your point or thier point rather after reading the posts twice . it means they see online gambling as a safe haven so that risk of infection on public can be reduced but its better that they will legalize it now on other unlegalized countries  . they dont need to wait for the covid to be finished before they implement such idea  . in that way people can stay more on thier houses and will only play gambling instead of gambling outside and soon they will  limit thier self gambling outside if ever everything goes back to normal again

The questions:
1. What's about in your country? Are online gambling and sports betting legal?
2. Is there any possibility that this prediction will really occur, more and more countries are legalizing online gaming/gambling and mobile sports betting?
3. How is it related to online gambling that uses cryptocurrency as one of the transactions manners? Will there more and more sites offer online gambling like this?

1. I don't think online gambling and sports betting will be legal in my country because my government is very strict about prohibiting gambling, whether it's online gambling or offline gambling.
2. Yes and no, depending on how strict the country about the gambling itself but if on that country allow gambling, then it could be possible to see online gambling will be legalized in that country because that can be considered as the way to enjoy the games with the money involved.
3. I guess that we will see the growth of online gambling using cryptocurrency. While people stay at home now, they will see so many advertisements about cryptocurrency and even they will need a crypto gambling website. So that can make many people curious about the cryptocurrency and the crypto gambling site.

Online gambling is legal in my country as long as you are licensed to operate in my country. However, most online gambling sites in my country are being operated by foreign companies. But about the prediction, it can be true. Although I don't think that right after this pandemic, it will become legal in most countries that fast since the world needs to recover from the pandemic, and legalizing online casinos won't be their priority. And if online casinos would be legal, they need to pay big taxes. This pandemic gives an opportunity for online gambling to be recognized by some gamblers but after this, I think they will go back to what they are used to. And that it's harder to handle online casinos since it's more prone to scams.

Lastly, I think more people in my country prefer traditional gambling than online ones. But I do hope that online gambling will be more known after this COVID issue.

Yes, as far as I know, online gambling is being regulated and licensed. Therefore, it is legal.

2. Is there any possibility that this prediction will really occur, more and more countries are legalizing online gaming/gambling and mobile sports betting?
It has a high possibility because of our current situation with this pandemic. Also, gambling businesses might consider pursuing this idea to continuously provide gambling service to their players.

3. How is it related to online gambling that uses cryptocurrency as one of the transactions manners? Will there more and more sites offer online gambling like this?
As the demand continues to increase, there will be more sites will be open. We can also see that there are more different gambling websites that have been created and I am sure that there will be more sooner or later.

The situation calls for legalization of online gambling.

Government funds in most countries are almost depleted and they needed the economy to recover asap. I think online gambling platforms can help provide the much needed funds and it would be impractical for the government if they aren't going to allow and regulate them provided they apply for license to operate.

As the world transitions to the new normal, I think people all types of gamblers would still be wary going to crowded areas like casinos.

I read some articles that China wants Philippines to start prohibiting the online betting or gambling, I just don't know the reason why. Online gaming is already legal and famous in our country and mobile sports betting too, because the government doesn't care about that and it doesn't affect the whole economy of a country. It is just a small amount of bets and it is just for entertainment and fun but if it is abused by the people then they should be accountable for that. As what you've said people will still do physical casinos, it is true because the environment inside a traditional casinos are really different from when you gamble online. Playing gambling outside is much less stress compared to online gambling that there is no one for you to talk with.

Everyone in the world is still not used to having this quarantine, and most of the things related to anything are made online. Which means it's more viable to make all the online applications in a legal sense applicable to everyone and gambling is also a part of it. There are a lot of people who realized that specific jobs could be done online, and many people are starting liking the "Work from Home" type of setup, and there are advantages to that for sure.

Maybe what had happened during this time would make the country's government accept that this is going to continue might as well make it legal, right? The continuous development of the country could be helped with legalizing the online gambling sites by letting them pay taxes with the appropriate amount and consider every option to help the economy go up again.

I know some people that are super into gambling, and they said they want to gamble in the land-based casinos, but it cannot happen, and someone in the group joked around and said to gamble in Bitcoin Trading with x125 leverage in Binance and see what happens. Lol.

Anyways, as we pour on our beliefs in the system, we don't know for sure if it's going to be applicable. Nevertheless, it's never too late to hope for those things and help the country realize the importance gambling brings to us with the right precautions in place also, and the benefits of it could bring to the country.

3. How is it related to online gambling that uses cryptocurrency as one of the transactions manners? Will there more and more sites offer online gambling like this?
1. Online gambling and sports betting is legal, in fact it has been legal ever since the boom of e-sports, remember the time when Solo was playing for RoX and he got banned for throwing the game, they banned him instead of apprehending the gambling site which means that it is legal. Sports bet is legal too, in my opinion making the sports betting online is better because it reaches more people and it makes the sports less inclusive because anywhere you are, you can bet on it and I do not see any problem with that.
2.  The possibility is high because it will benefit the country, though I do not believe that it will be a worldwide legalization because there are Muslim countries that prohibit gambling altogether.
3. I think that more sites will be integrating that system in the future because business as far as it goes needs to expand and textbook innovation of expanding your business demographic is the most trusted and effective way to grow your business.

As i see it many physical gambling casino's and sport bookies will decide to migrate to online gambling because if they dont, they will loss profit and potentially lead to bankruptcy due to quarantine could take much longer and some governments would allow it because it contributes through tax like most online businesses do. Especially when government's are handing out stimulus checks in order to keep the economy running by people spending their money.

Well, I don't think I've ever seen an online casino page tell me it's unavailable in my region nor have any of my accounts been blocked for living here so I suppose online gambling is legal in my country.

Online gambling becoming legal could've been foreseen a while ago as technology and internet coverage expanded, but I suppose there are advantages & disadvantages - the one I regret the most being the fact that social distancing will probably stay for a while with us and online gambling will only accentuate it. On the other hand, online casinos provide entertainment you can take anywhere with you Cheesy

Yea its legal in our country, and even if it wasn't there would still be casinos online in other countries and they would probably force it to gamble there. Even if they didn't they themselves could build a gambling community around themselves and well, there's that. As for it being legal, isn't it already legal to those who want it to be and not to those who don't want it to be legal? I'm pretty sure that it wouldn't matter at this point tbh. As for usage in cryptos in casinos, there'd probably be a few? But not all I guess? Especially those new ones, the chances of them adding cryptos immediately are around 50 50 after all, but it's a different issue if they actually started with cryptos instead of a fiat payment system.

My country's gambling laws are rather confusing and a bit funny.

1. Online gambling is both illegal and legal in different respects. Illegal if the operator is licensed locally and is serving the citizens themselves. Local online gambling operators should only be serving offshore gamblers. The local gamblers themselves will have to use offshore gambling services in order to avail of online gambling. In other words, they cannot play in the locally operated online casinos; they can only play in legal and foreign regulated online sites.

2. Local citizens here have the freedom to gamble online.

3. Local citizens, being allowed and limited to play only on foreign licensed and regulated online casinos, are not prohibited by the country's domestic laws to use Bitcoin or crypto in their games. After all, it is not within the country's jurisdiction to regulate those casinos.

In general this likely to happen, in fact some government are doing this now, because they want revenues and taxing this industry is a good way for them to keep up and earn profit while gambling casinos are still off because of this pandemic, our country is very open to this and in fact open the offshore gaming even if we are in a quarantine.

Reality covid19 in one of the industries that has hit the least is betting. In fact, they are the ones that have benefited the most since it is proven that during the pandemic the traffic of many sites rose and neither was the traffic exceptional, rather it was a growth of 30% on average in the most popular sites.

In fact, there was an increase in frequent players looking for more action on other sites rather than a significant organic growth of new players on those sites that saw positive numbers in the very important "online player traffic" data on a gaming site.

Most of the major casinos in the world are related to or involved with online casinos.

The legality of the gambling world is convenient for governments and for those who want licenses for certain countries, but the game is there, it is functional and it is within everyone's reach.

Let's be honest, betting games move in the rest of the world even with players from the united states, in international waters, the one who enters a casino as a user only wants to be paid their bets and that their funds are safe.

Perhaps the best example is pokerstar as it works in Spain, Colombia, France, Italy, it is not only legal but it has controlled traffic as it only exists for its players in the IP of each country.

in many countries they are not interested in legalizing gambling, but they are interested in having their citizens pay their taxes as winnings.

The world of cryptocurrencies, on the other hand, opens one more window so that the use of sports betting can be extended from wherever you want and now with the possibility of making your earnings somewhat more private.

In our country gambling online is not actually a big deal as long as you are of legal age. Online Casinos might start to operate since the gambling operation is at a full stop due to the pandemic. I guess gambling operators will have no choice but to switch to online gambling if this will be the case. I don't think that this pandemic will end too soon in our country due to the poor health system and not to mention the citizens who are not following the directives of the lockdown.

If you are in crypto then I do not think anything can stop to gamble online which means legal and illegal does not matter much 🤪
Of course, if it is available with the crypto. Gamblers will play as they want every time without thinking of legal or illegal. but, if it is legalized, they will be easier and more opened to play, choosing the gambling sites as they want without strict regulation, moreover gambling sites that are not related to crypto use.

Everything about cryptocurrency isn't illegal in my country and sports betting isn't prohibited in the country.
Happy to know those, mate. Every country has their own rule and regulation that may be influenced by many conditions.
You're right. online gaming and gambling may become one of the ways that can help us avoid the covid-19. And this may become one of the points to consider for the future, when some virus or condition probably will happen again and we must concern on online activities only.

For all responses, I believe that every country will decide their best decision based on the condition and society in the country. Covid-19 may give the big influence to the gamblers and the industry. And as long as it is profitable and safe for the gamblers and industry, why not? Probably it needs to think about the regulation, and taxes probably?

1. No, it's illegal. But only these companies which have at least 1 physical gambling/betting shop may have online gambling website. So, they block all foreign websites like Bet365, Betfair and others. Though, you can use it easy just by changing DNS or using VPN.
And actually, there is no real physical casino in my country, all these "casinos" have just slots machines.
2. Offcourse yes, especially if physical gambling is allowed in that country, I don't see any reasons why they shouldn't allow it online. But in my country, I don't expect any changes because physical betting/gambling isn't popular anymore, everything is online for long time already.
3. New crypto gambling websites opens every month. But almost all these websites is registered somewhere in offshore country to avoid taxes and regulations. It's their main difference from fiat sportsbooks. It would be interesting to see major fiat sportsbook starting to accept crypto...

As far as I know, there's no update regarding online sports betting here in our country. Well, legitimate online betting sites are still blocked in our country and this hasn't changed much with/wihtout Covid19. Land-based casinos are still closed up-to-this date and there's a high chance that they won't come back in the next 15 days. The only change that I recently noticed is that more and more people from my country learned how to avoid this restrictions and many of them used cryptocurrency to getaway with their betting/gambling itch.

1) Gambling and betting is free, both physically and online, as the country I live in earns most of the income from gambling and betting. Of course, there are also illegal bets via some websites, but as I mentioned, there are online gambling and betting services that provide government leave. In fact, some physically serving businesses have started to provide services online.
2) Yes, this is possible because the quarantine process not only closed people home, it also taught us that many things can be done online. For this reason, we will see that these services will gradually become legal in countries where online gambling and betting services are not legal. (Most likely it will be outside of Muslim countries.)
3) Due to the nature and vision of cryptocurrencies, it is not possible for websites that will provide official and legal services to accept payments with cryptocurrencies, but there is such a possibility if an identity-approved membership system or similar solution is produced.

Where I live now offline gambling is totally closed and the online one is being redirected to the only online gambling site which is owned by a big of the government.Every other domain is blocked from the ISP-s in the country.

However all of the people are using VPN to access bet365 which is the most used site in the country.I don’t think Covid will change things.

Those crypto gambling sites will choose to be anonymous because of the huge taxes if they want to legalized their activities. some other governments put some unnecessary payments on them that will make their earnings scarce a big percentage different than before. There will be no changes after this lockdown, trust me they will choose to changes the name of their site rather than letting the government get their hands on their gambling activities.

Currently, the country is still on the lockdown and many sport betting centres have already been opening for some sort gamblers in the area. Probably, the end of covid-19 will only add to the population that are going to join the gambling world, as I have already noticed new faces on one of my casinos. Believe me, some countries will legalize gambling and some may put up a restrictions for gamblers only to gamble online to avoid body contact and also to obey social distances. This prediction is likely to be positive if we're ready to fight against covid-19.

Well, when we are talking on cryptocurrency using for gambling I am sure the government did not have the power to control those gambling sites because it can work and operate unknowingly by the government. Perhaps the COVID-19 has a great impact on all businesses revenue including the gambling industry but this is not mean when all back to the normal government can allow businesses who did not pay tax. Perhaps, --if this online gaming and mobile sports betting will pay tax and fully registered or have a license to operate I think the government will allow them to operate a business.

If you are in crypto then I do not think anything can stop to gamble online which means legal and illegal does not matter much 🤪

But here is the think, for this Covid-19 situation many people are staying in home so the gamblers have no other way but to spend their gambling hours online. This creates a huge market for the online gambling industry of course.
That's why if too many people gamble online and the government can't hold them back either, then it's better for the government to regulate online gambling sites and then direct their people to gamble in those sites so that the online gambling sites their people visit are safe.

At least that's what they did to cryptocurrency and also drugs in several countries.

Covid-19 has a large impact on almost all sectors of life, including the gambling world. As we know, when countries do lockdowns, they also close various casinos and sports betting immediately. This is intended to minimize the Covid-19 contagion chain.

The closure, this becomes a nightmare. They are a dilemma. This is detrimental to the gaming or gambling industry, players, gamblers, and also the societies that get income from those. However, on the other hand, they also risk their health and even their lives if they still go to casino or sports betting. For this reason, online gambling and sports betting become ways to make deal with these.

Several executives and also consultants from the gaming industry also discussed in this regard, the possibility of the online gaming industry. One of them, John Pappas, also assumed the following:

Quote
"Pappas, the former executive director of the Poker Players Alliance, said he believes one good thing for the gaming industry that will come out of the coronavirus pandemic is the legal expansion of online gaming. He said industry leaders will need to educate lawmakers unfamiliar with legal internet gambling."

For information, so far, only several certain states that can access online casinos. Only around 3 states have legalized online casino and about 11 states authorize sports betting. As for online sports betting, only a few states allow the sportsbook online betting during the Coronavirus pandemic. While in other states, it may still be prohibited.
