So now, next to "too big to fail" we also have "too small to succeed!"... Interesting theory.

So I guess we won't see any small startups turn big commercial company anymore.  Roll Eyes

Yes everything has to start somewhere. It seems some dont seems to normally see, how old Bitcoin is and how much changes lets say Cars made in last 5 years. And how much bitcoin had.

Dadice Fixed Rate.
There's nobody really working on promoting or marketing Bitcoin or trying to educate consumers of Bitcoin's utility.  This inaction at expanding the userbase could arguably be the result of the free riding syndrome among the wealthiest holders.

There are more than enough people spreading information on Bitcoin, daily. Word of mouth ^Smile^
I am only one of thousands of people doing it. Person to person

I actually preffer word of mouth, when I see the commercial ads, sponsored sporting events and phone marketing MasterCard is doing, Im amazed how much money they must getting from people to afford all this advertisement. For the same reason I see every product having much advertisement as overpriced and looking for cheaper alternatives...

What about bitcoin payment processors? Their business is dependent on getting more merchants accepting bitcoin.

Well, face it, since the China bubble collapsed and Mt. Gox went bust, Bitcoin has gone sideways for six months. Transaction volume in USD is flat, and the price has gone down slowly. Difficulty went to the moon as the ASIC guys ramped up, but that's leveling off now, too.

I've been asking this for awhile.  Although the estimate is more like 500K-2M persons, but some do put the number as low as 50K.

I mean Bitcoin is regularly mentioned on financial news channels, has been the occasional top story and has had limited cameos on television and in the music industry.  There's been that survey which said 51% of Americans know about Bitcoin but obviously they haven't felt compelled to use it.

The blessing of a decentralized community can also have its' curses.  There's nobody really working on promoting or marketing Bitcoin or trying to educate consumers of Bitcoin's utility.  This inaction at expanding the userbase could arguably be the result of the free riding syndrome among the wealthiest holders.

His basic premise is that Bitcoin is small and therefore it can never get bigger. That is a fallacy and everything he says is based on it.
Even when confronted directly with the criticism that "he doesn't understand the potential", his response is "there are fewer companies that put bitcoin on their books than there are piano tuners in Canada".
BTW, he gets interviewed a lot right now because he is selling a book. His book will be a flop (by his logic, because only a few people own it) and he will go away.

A zealot has irrational belief in something. I believe that Bitcoin will have at least some success, but I'm aware that it may not even survive, so I don't consider myself a zealot. I consider the guy in the video to be an anti-bitcoin zealot because his belief in the failure of Bitcoin is clearly irrational, if you ignore the fact that he is only doing these interviews to sell books.

I almost posted it for you, because I knew it was coming...

I didn't because I thought the poster you quoted would have been confused.

I think you need to step back and question your own motives and how you apply them before you start calling other people zealots.

I have no holdings how about you?

And you continue to post on a Bitcoin forum? Are you like... trying to save us?

Time is money.

There is no saving you. You cant see the forest for the trees

well it is possible that the way he sees it is that if most people know about bitcoins (all my friends do & I never told them ... even ones that are in their 50's, it's referenced in tv shows, its several years old, etc) that the likelyhood of it seeing significant growth is small.
