Xapo moved their HQ to Zurich: http://www.newsbtc.com/2015/05/18/xapo-moves-hq-to-zurich/  I wonder if it bothered them that the FBI was there yesterday raiding the offices of FIFA.  Looks like there is no place to hide!!!  lol  'the man gonna get yo - no matta where you be'

They are different issues here. Xapo moving hq to switzerland is about privacy law on revealing an account holder's identity, while the raid on FIFA is about extraditing criminals from a country to another. You are right, there is no many place to hide if you are a prominent person unless you seek political asylum like Snowden did  Cheesy

The Xapo move was talked about here in this thread:

I don't see any fail or any wrongdoing there. FIFA are being investigated due to allegations of corruption and bribery. Those are both illegal activities and international crimes and thus the U.S. were able to investigate and ask for certain FIFA executives' extradition.
Many companies are based in Switzerland for tax purposes. There are plenty of legal loopholes that allow companies to pay less tax. Switzerland is one of the world's financial hubs and obviously proves to be a good location for Xapo to set up shop.

Yeah but, if the crimes in discussion here were not committed in US ground, then it is not a US business.
So how can the US ask to have them extradited and put them on trial there?

because US "soccer" is not a big thing and america bribed fifa to try and get american teams more represented in fifa... but fifa didnt do much, so america cried to FBI to get their money back.. good old uncle sam.. close your eyes when you bribe but chase the receivers when they dont follow through..

usa soccer is just butt hurt that Rio got the world cup last year. canada gets the female world cup this year, and russia gets the male world cup in 2018.. with no chance of america wanting to participate in russia

That actually makes sense.
In fact, it kind of makes everything clear.
And yeah, I doubt America will want to participate in Russia.

there a are other accusations about the advertising and things related to US companies (eg coca-cola), but i have an incling it has something more to do with russia 2018 not going USA's way

Where do you get the FBI  related to XAPO there is non.
They moved there for the reasons they claimed and i am sure my fine instinct is right about the lower taxes.
In the usa more and more states are moving towards taxes for bitcoin holders. So its a obvious and probably good step to move the headquarters.
Even if its not currently in place, the swiss do not give any privacy matters out of the hands if you do not have at least the FBI behind you.

To me XAPO looks like a legit small company trying to be a trustworthy means to hold peoples funds in a online wallet.
So again there is totally no relationship whatsoever with the FBI or the FIFA thats an entirely other matter
XAPO moved from Silicon Valley to Switzerland because the US Fed was trying to crawl up their ass and they don't like having things up their ass.  (Go to a little north to SF for more of that).  So, Xapo moved to Switzerland thinking the US FBI can't touch them there.  BAM! US Fed proves they are happy to run around Zurich with their jack boots and big wet red dicks.  Xapo didn't get away from anything.  Just as the criminals of FIFA got roped by the US in Zurich, when it comes time to get Xapo, the FBI doesn't care if Xapo is in Switzerland.  US freaking owns Switzerland.

Ever since the US IRS made UBS their little bitch and tell on all their clients and pay billions in fines - the Swiss government having balls like little thin Christmas ornaments, i.e. easily shattered, Switzerland simply works for the FBI now.  I wouldn't go to Switzerland for a freaking chocolate bar these days.  They offer ZERO protection from US.  Go ask FIFA - The Swiss were carrying the FBI briefcases for them and getting them a coffee while the FBI were kicking in the doors at their fancy Baur au Lac hotel.  What a fucking joke!!!  I love it.

i am a little bit confused!!
does this mean XAPO is doing illegal activity that should be afraid of FBI presence ??
They are doing Bitcoin  -  right?

Hmm, I didn't know about that.
So the deal is: they raided the FIFA headquarters because some officials were bribed and they took their bribe in USA with them?

Why didn't they handled things in the USA then, since the money and corrupt officials were there?

I think the FBI is sticking it's nose everywhere (that is not suppose to) for a different purpose.

Quote
FBI director James Comey added: ‘If you touch our shores with your corrupt enterprise you will be held accountable.

They forgot to mention, that the "corrupt" money will become good money in the U.S. government account.....

What did they expect?
They do set the example for the rest.....  Roll Eyes

So the question is: Who is going to clean up the corrupt U.S. agencies?

The FIFA raid has nothing todo with XAPO Cheesy
It shows that the swiss have no problems to deliver big criminals if needed to those who have a solid case against them.
I am sure that if all the FIFA top is removed and new people get in the same place, the corruption starts all over again.
There is no doubt in my mind that anything will change if mister blatter is removed and is replaced.
NOTHING will change, look at the  banks the dust has settled and its back to business as usual.
Its all a storm in a glass of water and after the dust is down the corruption will be back.

Its called tax evasion to move the headquarters to the swiss and use the swiss banks Cheesy
Many other companies have a headquarter in the swiss because the taxes are moderate.
I do not claim to have knowledge about it all, but many use monaco, switserland and liechtenstein for the obvious reasons
However it does not mean that you can escape the law, because those 3 still deliver some criminals if needed.

Why did the FBI raid FIFA?
Isn't FIFA that organization for football?
What does the FBI have to do with them?

the fact that they know or they revealed their cold storage position(switzerland) isn't comforting at all, you wonder why then these sites get hacked

here your answer about security issue, cold storage should be kept only by one man, the most trusted of the service

I am a little confused.
Are you saying the FBI is going to hack Xapo?
And only one person should be in charge of the cold storage?

no, i was talking about security in general, and that part of the article, has caught my eye
