COINBASE has open doors to allow institutional investors invest in cryptocurrencies with minimal risks. It is expected to bring 10 B$ to the market for a start. Could this be the beginning for fresh funds to enter the market.?

I think that this is exactly what we all are waiting for, if 10 billion dollars would come to the cryptocurrency market, it would explain for every person in the world that crypto is trustworthy.

This is awesome. This is pull in fresh money into Cryptocurrency market, which in turn will lead to a bull run. All things been equal, we should expect market stability in no distant time. Coinbase has always been trying to make things better generally.

Opening the doors to the real big money in the global financial market is going to be key if Bitcoin is really going to take the next steps of competing with gold as an asset. Things like this are a really good sign that it's heading in that direction.

Yes, definitely a chance for fresh funds and while it is most likely true that this will primarily help the highest net individuals and institutions, there could be a domino effect for regular, everyday investors. With this new platform, Coinbase will be taking on a lot of bulk buying from institutional investors, thus limiting supply and therefore increasing the price of their supported digital assets (btc, ltc, eth, bcc). It will be interesting to see how this plays out.

This article expands a little more on this hypothesis: https://ethereumworldnews.com/here-is-what-the-launch-of-coinbase-custody-means-for-the-little-guys-like-you-and-i/

I just read through the news from coinbase blog and it seems they are now offering crypto custody service to the clients including institutional investors. They are also planning to expand the scope of the service to Asia as well.

This is the first full scale corporate custodian service offered by a crypto giant in digital asset arena. So we can expect few more funds to flow into the market. However, what I foresee is that, the service is beneficial for large ICOs as they are the primary target client for this service.

Investing corporate funds into crypto space has a lot of legal boundaries. If we want to see big amounts of fresh funds flowing into the market, the legal framework needs to be simplified.
