Power is a big issue.  I first ran a 12/3 from the box...  after that started getting warm I added a 10/2.  with 10 rigs I have found the limit of a 40 amp breaker.  Smiley

I think you are over-thinking it.

I agree with this.

I have 10 rigs out in the shed...  it leaks when it rains.....  I have killed upteen number of bugs and spiders with the fans and such....  left the door open and rigs running even when the hurricane came thru.  These putters are not that 'soft'.

The best thing I have found is fresh air for them!

I keep wanting to do this, but, I just dont trust a) running a lot of extension power out my window and b) people not to investigate the really loud humming shed, and help themselves to some computer parts. I wish I had a garage, I would get brownie points from the lady friend for heating it, instead of trouble about all the noise I am causing :p

Mix in some cold water with the hot for crying out loud... you don't need a sauna to get clean...

I just imagined a scenario where people could not perform the most basic tasks at their homes because there would be mining rigs all over the place...

Well, now a useful comment: Why don't you put a curtain or something between the rooms? It would probably help

I'm pretty sure that scenario has existed for quite a while, and I'm dancing along the edges of it... Soon I will be found dead in my apartment unwashed and soiled clutching a Sapphire 5830 box with 3 rigs buzzing away.

Maybe if you're covered in axle grease... but in that case, you'd have bigger problems.

Knowing how hot the GPU's get, it's unlikely to harm those, but the other components that don't get so hot might be at risk.

So I have all the components needed to set up one more rig in my tiny apartment but the only place left to do so is a couple small feet next to my shower... It's on a wall in another room but there is no door separating them and steam will clearly get inside. I'm obviously aware of steam not being the greatest friend of computer components, let alone those in an open rig, but I'm wondering if those who have taken/considered similarly stupid risks have any thoughts.

On the hazard scale of 1-10, where does this fit in? My assumption is 7ish yet I'm still tempted..
