Hello together,
for the development of bitcoin there is a need for local stations which allow us to change Bitcoins into Fiat-Currency or from Fiat-Currency to Bitcoin.
There is an business inventing an Bitcoin-ATM, with a whole professional distribution Network.
But maybe such an Business can install 8000 ATM’s in 2 Year.
It’s not enough and every such ATM costs a lot of money, and is maybe to inefficient.

And I think such an business is an vulnerable Point for the Bitcoin Network so i started thinking about an alternative solution.

What about an Open-Source Bitcoin-ATM-Software?
Maybe in Java so it can be implemented on many buyable vending kiosk-systems.
Every ATM has his own wallet which can be loaded with Bitcoins.
So everyone with a little shop, bar or something like that can have a own Bitcoin ATM. Without paying for rent.

Or you can then build your own bitcoin-ATM with the software and a few hardware parts.
Banknote acceptor (150 USD)
Touch-Display (75 USD)
Camera for QR-Code Scanning (30 USD)
Computer (50 USD)
Network-Port/UMTS-Modem (15 USD)
Chassis (50 USD)

SUM: 370 USD

What do you think about such an project?
Ideas for a good name?

Yours,
timfah
