- Finally "abrupt drop in price"   your favorite, your favorite and if I may add main and often only index for declaring coins dead,  Sometimes I find it amazing to think how some people still fail to wrap promises from who is behind of launch the almost coins(no all coins and peoples, clarifying)  
except some as being on the same team, or just someone who is interested in to get quick profit
and I really hope this is not the case.

why you need a dev? To hold your hand and babysit you? To pump and dump with fake promises?
Nope, For several reason:
1.- Give a certain "level" of security to investors.
2.- Be sure that the updates come from the same source on the basis of security.
3.- Clarify doubts.
4.- Make improvements to the code according to the new specifications brand competition( no shitcoin,clone coins, scam coins)
5.- Coordinate what services the coin could be connected (exchanges,pools,etc....)
6.- I could spend more than an hour listing reasons.....

A last consideration on it: It would be foolish to think that one person can handle everything so do not keep up the story that are "alone devs"   especially considering the current safety requirements, Imagine for example that Heavy  reach an level of  "mainstream"  which I doubt   , You need at least an "Core developers"  Do you see?

So to conclude, I don't agree to declare this coin dead for above stated reasons. Dev obviously left this coin but only in terms of future plans and development, he delivered basics for this coin and all that is working fine, to be honest, not thanks to him but to good people. Someone will continue development for this coin, eventually, on solid base witch exists now.

The same to conclude, Ok acknowledge that the mere fact of having that you asked about what would be the status of your coin( as supporter as far as only) I I'll do an exception  on it, It will be listed on another list as "alive" on the thread but with a deadline very very wide like to one year, enough time to prove that this has something to offer and not only get rid of a bag of coins without value. Since devs they are no longer
any questions will be directed to you at least until someone is in charge. Any change of mind please feel free to indicate on Dead coins thread.


I expected more participation of others "bagholders" o services behind of it, But  there was little participation.

Please be more specific, what reality? Your version of reality is too much price based, you are close to declare dead every coin that has no significant price value. I guess it would be ok (in your terms) if I had like 95% of coin supply and few fake buy walls at, for example, 3000 satoshis, would you declare it dead than?

You disregarded everything what BitcoinNational stated,

Has nodes - 475 000 blocks in 2min per block thats like 660 working days for blockchain non-stop

Anti ASIC - you can read about hefty1 algo, which this was first coin to implement, so there was significant development required for this coin. also this was first coin to implement block reward voting, as part of blockchain so miners can decide how many coins they mine every 3600 blocks. 3 phases of mining etc cant remember all now.

Instead declare it dead, you should first review facts about coins and than decide.

Let's look at your 3 assumptions:

I would understand if you randomly pick another month but in april to september this coin was anything but dead by all parameters.

In my opinion and probably most of hvc holders, we would like dev was more active, posting random sh**t about new functions like maybe messaging in wallets or game in wallets or something like that but that would keep price for some time, coin price would drop anyway considering large coin inflation which eventually did (400 000 coins a day is very high inflation, but miners voted for it). So if we have a coin with blockchain moving without hiccup for almost 2 years, dif retargeting up and down fluidly, coin and blockchain moving in all projected parameters and spects why you need a dev? To hold your hand and babysit you? To pump and dump with fake promises?

So to conclude, I don't agree to declare this coin dead for above stated reasons. @asdf55: After that you finish reading all above I must ask you if you agree that this coin be declared dead, And give to it coin a  scam classification because "dev" never did a statement anymore plus prices  has been in the floor for an extended period of 20 large months, even despite the efforts of its legitims active members like you.

1.-Original dev keccak never stated he left the development of coin however He Should to continue making statements about the coin because it was a IPO and however he didn´t, As you say  he just stop posting.

Now comes the interesting part, Most peoples think or believe that whoever is behind of the coins on almost of cases are only "alone devs" but this is impossible to believe now, It is understood that an average or normal user remains supporting any coin even considering that "dev" left the coin this explains why after a IPO and after the outlet of "dev"  the coin keep alive, If besides to this is added newbies, Holders trying of minimize loss, Traders, Miners, Anothers services, etc.. This being the trend has been for a long time.

 

Well I can clarify some things as I understand them, don't have to be true, just my opinion.

First, you quoted member gpools. As I remember he was first large holder of hvc, botnet or large miner I dont recall. He was telling everyone to hold and than one day just said he is out, finished his dumping of ~50% of total suply.

Original dev keccak never stated he left developmet of coin, he just stop posting. Instead of him there was member mumbly, who was appointed for communications, promotions etc, from what I understand he was in some kind of communication with devs via messenger.

Xocel member was never presented as coin dev, he created blockchain explorer and got bounty for it, who btw was very shortly online(explorer), my message you quoted was congratulation for bringing explorer up again.

So I collected all info there is about coin and posted it in quoted message. Why am I bagholding it? Don't have a clear answer, it's not a big bag since it varies to max 0.xx % of supply. There was nice story behind this coin, new features and cool algo etc but like all similar altcoins no real world usage.

If you have more questions, post it I will try to answer as soon as I can.

edit. About my signature for hvc faucet, explorer etc, I pm-ed member Grinz who provides faucets and explorers for coins to create it for hvc, then I send some coins for faucet when he put it up. Since he did it for free, I think, as a way to say thanks I can put link to his site in my sig.

I would like to know the opinion of an initial supporter of that coin  @asdf55 since he was who kindly  brought to my sight the "classification" of this coin.
