How is OpenBazaar doing currently? I had high hopes for it before it opened, had a look around etc. Does anybody know if the site traffic is high there, if there are lots of purchases being made?

I made a thread about your question a few weeks ago. Overall , It's not doing pretty good and It's going to need a boost of some kind (mostly advertising) otherwise It's not going anywhere If you ask me. If you check here https://bazaarbay.org/stats/day you will see the stats , I'm checking that URL a few times a week and the numbers aren't changing that much at all .

Hi! There's a simple solution to your problem. Here's a service that is much easier to deal with and is not P2P but blockchain-based with faster transactions and much cheaper to use (you don't need to keep a node on 24/7 or pay someone to host for you).

So basically It's not decentralized , I know you are trying to promote your coin or whatever but If I wanted something centralized and not peer to peer I would go with something like Ebay instead .

Not at all, it's completely decentralized, all trades are made directly on the blockchain so it's like using bitcoin without having to use a third party program that requires you to pay for hosting; the hosting is all done on the blockchain.

It Centralized and not P2P. I think its better in some cases. Ebay uses Peer to Peer but its the option of each service provider to use their terms.
Open bazaar is a good project over all with the best thing that only deal all the transactions in bitcoins.

I hate to be a 'me too' - and not have anything to really contrib to.  But - me too :-(

I'm running Mac OS 10.10.5 Openbazaar 1.1.4 for the mac.  Some of the programs I've got open/running::  Bitcore Core, and Ethereum-Wallet (no problems on either of these.)

I don't have my IP ports open for this particular computer, is this an issue?

For what's it is worth a screenshot of as far as I can go::

(Basically the same as the other...)

What am I forgetting or overlooking.  Do I need any ports open on my computer/router?  I just want to 'see' other shops and was under the impression this SW would be the interface.  Hell, I thought that I needed bitcoin running - ala Lighthouse...

I'm still having this issue I'd really appreciate it if someone could help me !

Do you use VPN's ? Check if any firewalls are blocking the connection ? Maybe start a private network connection with a secure tunnel ? I had the same issue with opening wallet explorer ,turned out my ISP had issues .I used a public DNS and the issue was resolved. In case you don't mind checking it out https://developers.google.com/speed/public-dns/docs/using

I was using it just fine then as I said after few days (stopped using it) I run it again and it's not working . I didn't run any VPN's and didn't use any proxies on that time . Everything seems to be okay from the Firewalls part too so It doesn't make if just stop working  Huh

I'm interested in OpenBazaar also. Any info would be appreciated.

What kind of information's are you looking for ? I personally have a bug , If you want to download the software then simply visit OpenBazaar.org

I'm interested in general, because I'm ready to sell some of my downloadable stuff. So I'm curious just to know how active this market is. I know it's very young and I believe it has future. Will install it next week.

They didn't open from long time so It's not that active yet but here , you can see the stats needed : https://bazaarbay.org/stats/day

Working fine for me.Do you get an exception when the App is opened ? Check out their github page and see if your issue is already listed there,if not ,create a new request.

I'm not getting any exception , this is all I have :

No matter how I changes the settings and I click "Retry connection" , I still have the same message that says "Unable to connect ...."

I know it's peer to peer which makes it weird ... I had an account (or whatever you call it) I opened it once OpenBazaar officially opened but I didn't open the executable since long time , now I wanted to check it out once again and I can't seem to login .

It says "Unable to connect to your server" and If I click "Save changes" or "Retry connection" It displays the same message without being able to connect. (I tried to SSL On or Off but same thing)
