So I just want to know
- Whether one can open duplicate/multiple ANN threads for the same Projects?
- Should we extent the bump system to Altcoin Dicussion board?

I think changes must be done in alt announcement board. I mean one announcement must be enough, and the updates must only be placed in the main announcement thread. Despite other offering that must be announced, still, using url linking, and/or iurl and anchor must be the best way to prevent multiple announcement on multiple boards. If ever they would create bunch of users to make threads, the website/platform they promote must have one and only announcement thread. Right?

How best can this be handled?
I am thinking of reporting them to mods as spammers, but I am not sure if it's the right thing to do
Posts made by this user can be reported due to breaking rule number 22.
Advertising in others threads is not allowed.

This is not similar to opening multiple threads but this user (greenslope) goes on posting about their exchange in different threads: https://bitcointalksearch.org/user/greenslope-2540650;sa=showPosts

No. Only service threads can be duplicated for the purpose of payment method distinction of BTC and alt. Other than this, no duplicate is allowed. I have seen a lot of projects trying to bypass the buming system by creating unnecessary threads. Report them to mods and they will be deleted.

They are both announcement in essence. They shouldn't have posted something that has the same substance as the original. Although the title and the text are different, they still have the same links and almost the same content as the original. The new thread doesn't really tell us something about their project. Also, that new sentence can be pasted in the original thread without any issue, why make another announcement with the same contents?

We should report it. By the way, it's already moved to Alternate cryptocurrencies > Announcements (Altcoins)

Can't your report these type of threads as wrongly posted topics on a board? For what logfiles give we can easily say that the similar topic they have in the trading discussion thread is wrongly posted as they are just promoting their website/service which isn't the trading discussion is made for. If it is not I think it should be this way as these services are bypassing the bumping system we have created for their service promotion. Because they can just easily create topics where post bumps are available and just make it look like a discussion for them to just pass.

You could report it but I doubt mods would delete it, particularly if the thread has replies and people are actually discussing the topic, lame as it may be. I agree with your point about Trading Discussion. I could be reported as "wrong board" and perhaps get moved to Service Discussion or whatever is more appropriate.

He is trying to outsmart the bumping restriction but he is not as smart as he thinks. He could at least edit the first topic, lock it then archive it to prevent being caught.
Report his second topic and mods will deleted as it's agains forum rules:

12. No duplicate posting in multiple boards (except for re-posting it in the local language boards if it's translated).
Maybe the OP was just double posting. I think it is better to inform him that in this forum, double posting is not allowed. However, I think it is not accidentally happened because if there is no bug in posting. The ann thread must be reported to the moderators so that it will vanish already.

I think this topic must be emphasized to the forum because many users have failed to follow this simple instruction and in result, most of the users got banned from this action. Double posting is really not allowed unless it was translated in local board or vice versa.

Many of those can be reported as "wrong board" and/or "duplicate of " but...

It looks like some folks have discovered a way of bypassing the bumping system by posting their ANNs in discussion boards.

This type of spam is a bit tricky. The threads are not merely duplicates. Such "discussions" are harder to report convincingly, particularly if other members actually join the discussion and it's not just a shillfest. I guess as long as the OP of the thread puts some effort into making it look like a discussion then we'll have to tolerate it.

Whenever I see a topic with a link to external website, I visit the post history of the user.
If there are multiple topics with that certain link, I report some of them (all of them, if they are not many) consecutively and ask moderators to check the post history as well.

These kind of reports are usually marked as good.

Duplicate posting is against the forum rules, this applies to ANN threads as well as regular posts.

Should we extent the bump system to Altcoin Dicussion board?
No, bumps are limited to sections where the user markets a product to prevent fake/scam projects from getting publicity. Discussion threads does not need this feature. If a post is wrongly placed there to bypass the system; they should be reported.

There are lots of services rep. posting like this as multiple ann threads on other boards.

Though the posted thread doesn't belong to Services Annoucements it's mentioned there "Do not create excessive "announcements" just to advertise your service." So I guess this also reflect other board posting their ann thread.

User Profile: GOLD Cash

The said user created an ANN thread for his Project on June 16 in the Altcoin Announcement Section "Gold Cash(GOLD)| A Rare Cryptocurrency (POW) Long Term Scarcity Investors Coin" which is not even shown in the first 10 pages. 2 days back he posted the same ANN Thread with another title "What is Gold Cash?" which can found on the 6th page. This shows that the new bump system is worked as it is meant to be.

Today, inorder to bypass the bump system, he posts a topic in the Altcoin Discussion where the bump system is absent and diverts it to his ANN thread without any value addition. And the said topic is displayed on the front page. Is this kind of activity allowed?

So I just want to know
