We all know that Altcoins are hurting bitcoin in big way. Scammers are creating altcoins on daily basis and big altcoins exchange are helping them milk money out of it by charging as little as 3 BTC to list their scams.

Scammers list their scam on exchange, people buy it for BTC, Scammers collect BTC, Scammers sell BTC for Fiat while bringing BTC price down. We can sit here and blame investors or what not but real truth is they won't go away unless we come up as a team and eliminate them.

Fastest way to eliminate scams is report exchanges that are listing them. Once they can't be listed on exchanges they will have no place to go and they will die.

So, it's time we come up with a plan to save BTC and I believe if everyone does it soon we'll see rise in BTC price.

Step 1 - Keep track of Altcoins scam
Step 2 - Put all the evidence in one pile
Step 3 - Wait till it gets listed on exchange
Step 4 - Report Exchanges to FBI with all the proof that you've collected (including pump & dump)

I am not sure about this anymore mate, I think this time is behind us. People have gotten smarter with their money (or they have lost enough not to do it again). I mean this was very popular in the last year, but take a look at the alts section, there is no more IPOs or ICOs.

The last scam like this was a Bitbay, yes bter was involved but even they are done as an exchange.
I would be more worried about the 7,000+ BTCs they have stolen than couple of hundreds of BTCs from the bitbay affair.

They're not. They have no influence on the price of bitcoin but if they did there would be nothing anyone could do about it.

Is Bitcoin really in trouble?  I don't believe it is...  Alt's are here but I feel like their impact is slowly diminishing, as for your cataloging reporting to the FBI, good luck brother I'll be slowly working on my positions and what I can do to spread the BTC word.

The best you can do is warn other member about an upcoming scam, but even then probably NOTHING will happen.
You know why?
1) Because scammers are smart and they create self moderated threads.
2) People are greedy and will jump to any "opportunity" to make easy money
3) Most people know it's a scam and they are trying to milk it too while they still can.

FBI?
Do you really think the FBI gives a shit about crypto scam coins?
If it ain't stepping in their fields, they don't care.

Like I said the best you can do is warn other members about the upcoming scam.

If you do the math and you scale it to BTC you would see very little of these Alt coins stand a chance to make it, without being a scam. How much daily trade must there be for a coin with a total supply of say 400 000 000 coins? for it to reach the level where BTC is right now?

This is why so many of them fail... They simply have no future and have to resort to pump n dump schemes to make a profit. If I know a coin will release 400 000 000 coins and rarity will not be a issue, I will not invest in it. Huh

You have a choice to invest in any commodity, and if you invest in it, because it's available on a exchange, you will
burn your fingers. Do the research and do the math.  Roll Eyes

It is not that easy. First of all you have to proove that something is a scam. Even if an altcoin shows signs of beeing a scam you need waterproof facts to underline that. It's not just black and white. There is also a lot of grey. And not each altcoin is a scamcoin!
You can't stop scams at all.Their will always be sneaky guys out there who are looking for a quick buck and try to fool and manipulate people for it.
How do you want to filter out of so many alts which is 100% scam and which not?
I suggest to sensitize people who are dealing with altcoins, especially the newbies about how risky it can be. But in the end it's everybodies own decision what he is doing with his money.

It's not different to the fiat money world.About how many scams you see and read in the news? Once a month minimum I would guess when it's a larger one!!

wild west. got scammed? hoped for high gains?
people get what they deserve, what they ordered. this is how it works in the free word without mommy. sorry to hear your feelings've been hurt.

that kind of attitude will kill BTC.

All of these scams are being traded for BTC not Fiat. So eventhough people think it's wild west and investors are to blame bottom line is it's BTC who get hurt at the end because no one wants to step in.

If people can create scams and then get it listed on exchanges and trade it for BTC they will keep doing it unless we come together and put a stop on it or we can just sit in our corner and watch BTC price plummet as scammers get richer and richer.

Yup this is the part which most people ignore. It is one of the reason that the price cant remain stable, Because of all these pumps and dumps on altcoins it affects the price of bitcoin. We really need to do something against them or they are just a plague for bitcoin. Making scammers lots of money while devaluing bitcoin. Who knows what the price would have been if these scam altcoins could be removed.
